At The Goddard School located in Chicago (Roscoe Village), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
We love Goddard and the current management, teachers and staff at the Roscoe Village school! The teachers are so loving and caring. Even our older child who has now moved on from Goddard often wants to go back to visit! Everyone is super friendly and helpful and truly care about our kids and our family. They’ve helped our boys grow immensely from a social and emotional standpoint and also from and educational standpoint. Very happy we chose Goddard!

Our daughter absolutely loves Goddard and “coming to school” she has been here since 5 months and is now a little over 2. Joli Sara and their team are great and always supportive when questions or concerns arise. Our daughter is thriving and so much of this is due to the wonderful teachers and staff here ! Since the most recent ownership took over there’s been great updates events etc for the kids and parents truly creating a community feel!

Our daughter started at Goddard Roscoe Village when she was 3.5 months and I was very anxious about leaving her. From her first day she is happy every time we drop her off and pick her up. Her teachers (Ms. Brenda, Ms. Katherine and Ms. Viridiana helped so much with the hard transition and are such a joy to see each day! Everyone at Goddard always makes our family feel so loved! Even though she is an infant, her class has so much fun with her music teacher and little activities each day.

We had an exceptional experience with Goddard School. Our twin three-year-olds had so much fun and adjusted quickly. From an educational perspective, the environment covers a range of skills, from music to math to learning comprehension to socializing. Unlike a Montessori, they do incorporate more play and dress up, but they have a more focused learning environment than say a day care. (However, they keep daycare hours and that was tremendous for us to be able to keep our girls there until 6pm!) The staff were all incredibly friendly, communicative and accommodating. We are especially thankful to Joli, the head of school, who was so attentive and supportive.
Organizationally speaking, Goddard is also very strong: We loved the app that shared photos of the kids throughout the day, and detailed updates on their meals, naps and BMs. It was a very helpful tool. The parking lot for pickup/dropoff is a dream too. And we love how much outdoor time the kids get with two playgrounds. We also appreciated the classroom size of about 11-16 students depending on the day.
We would have happily kept our kids there if we didn't have a commitment for them to return to their previous school in fall. I highly recommend Goddard Roscoe Village!

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
