At The Goddard School located in Carol Stream (Wheaton), we're more than just a daycare. The Goddard School is a private preschool, offering childcare to infants and toddlers to pre-k. Our programs are designed to nurture each child's curiosity in a safe and caring environment.
My 2 year old started here about a month ago. Prior to starting, he was at home with me so he didn’t really get much social interaction. It only took him a few short days to adjust and now he can’t stop talking about his teacher (Ms. Megan). Not only is the staff super friendly, but the director (Kristin) is also very responsive and thorough when answering questions. The thought of sending your child to daycare can always be a little daunting but The Goddard School of Carol Stream focuses on making it an exciting process. We have loved our experience and can’t recommend them enough!

This review is LONG overdue. My child attended The Goddard School Carol Stream (Wheaton) for about 2.5 years. Our experience was nothing short of amazing and we left only due to a move. The onsite owner Martin knows each family, and child
and is actively engaged in the day to day operations of the school. The director and each teacher is experienced and truly cares about the children. Our child participated in so many fun, educational, activities each day. The Goddard School is truly exceptional in comparison to the competition!

Both of our children go to Goddard School and there is truly no where else we would ever want to send them. They are so caring, kind and love each of their kids as if they were their own. As well, the turnover there is so limited because the owner truly cares for the wellbeing of his staff as well as all of those who attend the school.

Goddard is The absolute most kind hearted, understanding, loving family I’ve ever come across. My little one has been at Goddard for almost two year’s now and he will be leaving for kindergarten this summer! I am so devastated that it’s time to go. Not only had Goddard been the best place I could have ever chosen for my little one it has been a second home, and second family. The teachers and staff welcomed us with open and loving arms. My little one is almost 5 years old and has been in a couple of different daycares since 6 months old. I wish I could have found them sooner, my little loves it there and definitely expresses that! The communication they provide involving my child is everything a parent could ask for. my little is well cared for, and my little being there is a peace of mind because I know my child is in good hands!
Thank you Goddard for being our second home!

I would not recommend this school. We had a terrible experience there with our 4-year-old, whose attendance at the school was a short 4-months.
From just a few weeks in, we noticed that he was more irritable, and somewhat sad on a fairly regular basis. He would constantly ask us to stay home, stating that he “hated” his new school. We also noticed that there were constantly new teacher assistants, (none of whom would ever introduce themselves), and he was switched into a new class just 2 months after he started. He began asking us if he was a bad kid and he also started telling us that he would “never let us down.” For context, he attended a wonderful Goddard school prior to our move back to the area, and we never had any problems.
We had an in-person meeting with the school’s administrators to address some of the concerns. He was put a plan to help “correct” his troublesome behavior, and 1-week later, without warning, we were contacted and told that he could no longer attend. On his final day, he came home and told us that his teacher told him he was leaving the school because he was a bad kid. The administration told us we should have him evaluated as his behavior was “troublesome”. Against our better judgement, we had lengthy meetings with both our pediatrician and an outside evaluator, and both informed us that he was a perfectly normal 4-year-old. They both agreed that they thought something else was going on at the school that we had not been privy to.
It's been 2 months since we left Goddard, and our son is a different person. He is so much happier, and his "spark" seems to be back.
In summation, this school does not care about the children that attend. And the insinuation that something was “wrong” with our kid was beyond reproach. In retrospect, I am grateful our tenure was short-lived and would not recommend this school.
Addendum: the owner's response is exactly what is problematic. Calling yourself a business vs. school, and children (and parents) customers vs. students and parents.

In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
