- CRCaitlin RigginsNov 6, 20252.0Having switched to another Goddard school due to a move, I’m able to compare the two and have my gut instinct validated that this was not an ideal learning environment for our family. There was very little parental communication from teachers- the only time that I had a one on one conversation with my daughter’s teacher was about a month into attending where I was informed that they had experienced “continuous” listening issues with our child, this teacher also had the same conversation with my husband the following week, and when both of us asked what we could do to help assist in reinforcing the importance of listening, we received a shrug and the suggestion of using “listening ears”. There was no follow up to these two conversations from the teacher or any other staff members. There were tears every morning before taking our daughter to school because she reported that the teachers were mean to her when she didn’t sleep. It was so bad one morning that I contacted an administrator to clarify the sleep policy, and we were told we could bring in quiet play toys from home to bring comfort- my daughter continued to report that certain teachers would not let her use her toys during naptime. Strange things happened during our brief time there- specifically a note home about a former teacher who was allowed in the school to “say goodbye to some of the children” and then broke down crying and displaying erratic behavior to where she was escorted off campus. There was also a power outage where we received a message to retrieve our child immediately because restoration would not happen in a timely manner. I rescheduled clients and came to pick my daughter up 45 minutes after receiving the message, and the power was on and functioning just fine- no update from the school via their messaging app. We are now at a Goddard where the atmosphere is welcoming, communicative, positive, and my daughter looks forward to school every day and does not want to leave at pick up. The experience has been a complete 180 for our entire family. I’m hoping that the school can use this feedback to improve and that it is helpful to prospective parents trying to make the decision on who to trust with your kiddos education.

The teachers and staff care about the kids and every kid and parent by name. It is a friendly environment the promotes learning and social development. When my oldest left Goddard, and when into kindergarten, he often scored above grade level.

They made the transition to a new school incredibly easy, and he has continued to grow and excel everyday since being there. We now have our 5 month old daughter attending as well, and knowing that she is in such good hands with the amazing teachers and staff helps to make drop offs that much easier. I would highly recommend this Goddard School to anyone. The staff and owners are wonderful and care so much for every child in their care.

Yes, The Goddard School® is an early learning institution that focuses on the social, emotional, physical and academic development of children from infancy to pre-k. Our highly trained and motivated faculty develop experiential lesson plans for all age groups that reflect the skills, abilities and interests of the children in each classroom.

What is a typical day at The Goddard School like?
In each classroom, we provide hands-on, playful, child-centered learning experiences that vary based on the children’s levels of development. Teachers help children grow into happy, healthy, intelligent little humans who are ready to take on the world around them.
For infants, we follow the care schedule set by your family and utilize personal care moments to connect with and expand your little one’s individual development. Our teachers also incorporate songs, finger play, books and sensory and physical exploration each day.
Our busy toddlers flex their independence as they learn to walk, talk and safely explore the world around them. Their curiosity and interests drive the classroom structure.
In our preschool and pre-k classrooms, we add more school preparation and readiness by focusing on academic skills as well as interpersonal and collaboration skills. Teachers support children as they investigate the world around them. Children learn how to ask and answer questions, work with others, navigate social situations and understand and communicate their own thoughts and feelings.
Our teachers expertly create supportive classrooms for all children to safely learn and test new social, academic and physical skills throughout a typical routine that includes morning and afternoon snack time, lunch, naptime, exploration time, small and large group experiences and outdoor play.
What types of qualifications do Goddard School teachers and caregivers have?
Our experienced Goddard School teachers meet all state and/or local regulations and have access to continuous training provided by their state and our own Goddard University. We train teachers on a regular basis in health and safety regulations, education standards and more.
Can any of the families in the School opt out of vaccinating their children?
In many states, children who are not vaccinated because of exemptions based on medical condition or sincerely held religious beliefs attend The Goddard Schools. If your child is not vaccinated, please contact the owner of The Goddard School to inquire as to whether exemptions may apply as not all exemptions are recognized in every state. To ensure the health and safety of everyone, if an outbreak occurs and a child has not been vaccinated, they will be asked to stay at home.
What supplies do I need to provide for my child?

For toddlers and older children please bring a blanket and/or sleeping bag. Many of our locations also ask that you pack lunch for your child each day.
