- SMSue MJul 20, 20255.0Although my dad lived at Brookdale Lowry for only four months before his death, I’m so grateful for the care, kindness, and dignity he experienced there. After visiting eight other communities, we chose Brookdale because it felt the most genuine. The residents were active and cheerful, and staff were warm and welcoming. From the very first day, they made space for my dad to be known and valued—his name tag visible so other residents could greet him and introduce themselves as he was wheeled down the hallway. The nursing staff and caregivers were attentive and respectful, and communication with the family was steady and thoughtful. Activities were plentiful and meaningful, and although my dad wasn’t able to participate in many due to his declining health, he enjoyed the opportunities he had to engage. The residents themselves were a special blessing—friendly, welcoming, and so kind to him and to us. It matters where and how a person spends their final months. For my dad, Brookdale Lowry was a place of safety and peace. We carry that with us in our grief, and we’ll always be thankful.
