  We had a sitter named Autumn T., and the experience was completely opposite of what Jovie had promised in their email description. She showed no engagement or affection toward our child — just sat or stood nearby, handed him toys or books, and made no effort to comfort or interact when he cried. During feeding, she gave up immediately if he resisted. It was painful to watch someone so indifferent toward childcare. Even worse, when we tried to cancel and request a replacement, we were told there might not be another sitter available, leaving us with no choice but to proceed. The information Jovie provided about her was misleading, and that’s unacceptable when it comes to trusting someone with your child. This experience completely shook our confidence in Jovie’s vetting and placement process. Families deserve honesty, reliability, and caregivers who genuinely care — not someone who clearly dislikes their job.

  Overall, we've had a great experience with Jovie. When the caregivers are a fit for our son and our family, they are wonderful.

  When the sitters are here, they are great. Wonderful sitters. But for two weeks in a row, the confirmed sitters cancelled Sunday evening for Monday and no replacement was available. This is despite my placing the request over a month in advance. It makes it difficult for me to count on being able to go to my work.

  DO NOT USE JOVIE. we've used Jovie twice and both times were absolutely terrible experiences (so much so that we were refunded). The first lady was late, was on the phone the majority of the time, locked herself out of the apartment, and fell asleep while my baby was crying (my friend was over because I didn't trust this lady to be alone with my baby and she saw this all happen). the second lady overslept and we had to make other arrangements because we had to go to work.

  So incredibly disappointing. I was traveling here for work and we scheduled child care only for the person to completely never show up, for them not to answer the phone and for all calls to go to voicemail. Totally unprofessional and extremely disappointed. I do not recommend. we scheduled this about two months out only for this to happen. We received all the confirmation emails and everything, so none of that means that you will actually receive care. Editing to add in response yes, this was done through the employer plan of back up care. There’s no way they have a 247 line because I called that number that says it’s 247 only for it to just go to voicemails. Our employer contractor called the supposed direct line given and nothing.
