  Doug and the rest of the staff at at Green Valley Mortuary were the most respectful and caring staff I have worked with for a service no one wants to need. Sadly, this was not my first time working with a mortuary, but Green Valley has been exactly what I would imagine the best of this service can be. The grounds and facilities match the staff's excellence. Thanks to Doug and everyone at Green Valley Mortuary for easing my family through our sad time.

  Douglas Straight with Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery was a class act from our first phone call with him after my father's passing to well after our family services. He helped my mother and family navigate through the many decisions that death brings. Doug helped us create a beautiful graveside service with military honors and reception to follow. All staff that I encountered from Green Valley were so kind and respectful from those that retrieved my father, through our planning, placement of urn and service staff at the reception. When the need arises, I highly recommend Green Valley for their beautiful grounds, facility and amazing staff.

  How to leave a review for a mortuary? I am very thankful for my parents that I did not have to go look for a place. They made plans over 20 years ago and my dad is buried here. A few years ago, my mom had me call the mortuary to make sure everything was still okay and I knew what to do. I met with Michelle and everything was good and she itemized out what I would be responsible for. That was really helpful. When my mom passed a few weeks ago, everything was already in place and paid for. Hospice just had to call the mortuary and they came to get her. However, there are the extra little details that are required for a funeral. Doug was extremely helpful and patient in guiding me through everything. He gave his advice, but always said, "whatever you want". The website for uploading photos for the service was easy but if I had any questions (I had quite a few), I could call or email Doug and get answers. Nothing felt rushed. I was able to see my mom the day before the service and she looked nice. I chose to have the reception there in their Legacy room with the catered food. I'm so glad I did as nobody had to worry about anything and could just visit with each other. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this mortuary.

  Green Valley did not just hit a home run. They hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th to win the World Series. I had pre-arranged use of Green Valley's cremation services for both my wife Sally and myself. After Sally passed, I spoke with Michelle Goff about possibly having her memorial service at Green Valley. Michelle talked about the services they offer and guided me around their facility; I knew immediately it would be a perfect venue. The Chapel is lovely and spacious. The Legacy Center is very well-situated and an excellent size and setting for our post-service luncheon and reception. All of that is good, but Michelle listened carefully to everything we wanted to do in order to have the Celebration of Life reflect who Sally was as a person, and she worked very closely with us to make that happen, including some significantly out-of-the-box touches (e.g., an art project [Sally was a long-time art teacher] during communion) ; Michelle also made several very well-informed suggestions about ways to personalize the service. Green Valley's handling of the service itself could not have been more perfect. Doug Straight and Genni Olive made sure that all attendees were appropriately directed, and Doug professionally handled all transitions from one portion of the service to the next. Everyone was made to feel welcome and valued. The luncheon was well set up and delicious, and the Legacy Center was perfect for attendees to mingle and share stories about Sally. We were never made to feel rushed, and everyone involved in the planning and execution of the Celebration of Life from Green Valley was professional, well-informed, helpful, efficient, and caring. I could not have been more impressed and grateful. I will absolutely and unequivocally recommend Green Valley (with a well-earned bias toward Michelle) to anyone seeking a perfect way in which to celebrate a loved one.

  I can’t say enough about the wonderful care and kindness shown by Green Valley Mortuary and the Legacy Center during my mother’s funeral and celebration of life. They walked me through every option with compassion and made a difficult process so much easier. Having the celebration onsite was a huge help — they set up everything beautifully with table linens, offered affordable catering options, created a touching slideshow, and guided us through how to make the day meaningful. Their professionalism and genuine care allowed our family to focus on honoring my mom. I’m truly grateful and highly recommend them.
