Disappointed – Poor Communication, Safety Concerns, and Unclean Environment. I’m very disappointed with my experience at The Goddard School in Rancho Cordova. Despite multiple emails and attempts to address my concerns, there has been no genuine effort from the owner, Bill Pu, or the front staff, Ms. Selena and Ms. Kaitlyn, to meet, communicate effectively, or resolve ongoing issues. My concerns around safety and cleanliness were repeatedly brushed off, and it’s clear that communication and accountability are not priorities here. Before enrolling, several parents had warned us about their negative experiences, but we wanted to give the school a fair chance — unfortunately, those warnings proved true. The classrooms are dirty and outdated, and overall, the environment does not reflect the level of care and attention that parents expect from a school of this reputation. That said, the only true positive from our experience was the Joyful Jaguars classroom team — Ms. Emerald, Ms. Ghoa, and Ms. Tsogik. These three teachers are incredibly hardworking, loving, and dedicated. They genuinely care about the children and consistently go above and beyond. Their warmth and professionalism were the highlight of our time here. Since we’ve moved our toddler to a new school, we’ve noticed a significant positive change — the difference has been eye-opening and only confirms how concerning our experience at Goddard Rancho Cordova truly was. I sincerely hope the ownership and administration take this feedback seriously and begin prioritizing communication, safety, and cleanliness for the well-being of both students and staff.

I called to get some basic information, but the person who answered the phone wasn’t helpful at all. She told me I had to go online to schedule a tour instead of simply helping over the phone. When I asked about pricing, she said they don’t share that unless you come in for a tour. That feels like a bait-and-hook tactic. If a childcare center can’t be transparent and straightforward about something as simple as pricing, I can’t trust them to be upfront about more important things when it comes to caring for kids.

We couldn’t be happier with our daughter’s experience at Goddard School! The staff are wonderful, and she is truly thriving and developing every day. The education program is excellent, and it’s clear how much thought and care goes into supporting each child’s growth. We are so grateful for the nurturing environment and the quality of care and development they provide. Highly recommend!

Review Title: A Deeply Disappointing and Emotionally Harmful Experience at Goddard School's Happy Hippos Class I enrolled my son in the Happy Hippos class at Goddard School Rancho Cordova from March 2025 till April 2025 (short time because of this experience) with high hopes, believing a respected franchise like Goddard would provide a safe, nurturing environment. Unfortunately, our experience was the complete opposite. From the very beginning, there were red flags. Neither Miss Beverly nor Miss Emma ever greeted us warmly. In fact, I never once saw Miss Beverly smile at my child—except on the very last day, when we came to collect his belongings. That felt disingenuous and honestly heartbreaking. What concerned us the most was how our child was treated with fear and isolation. Instead of identifying solutions or collaborating with us as parents, the teachers seemed to focus solely on labeling him as the problem. Miss Beverly even nicknamed him “Danger Man,” a name that other children picked up and used, further isolating him socially. This kind of labeling is unacceptable and damaging to any child’s emotional health. Previously, our son attended a different preschool where a similar behavior concern was addressed professionally and compassionately. We were involved, educated, and supported. In stark contrast, we felt judged and dismissed at Goddard. One moment that still haunts me was when I arrived unannounced to pick up my child and found him sitting alone on a couch in isolation. When he saw me, he ran into my arms and hugged me tightly—his eyes filled with fear. He couldn’t speak much English at the time, but he clearly understood expressions and tone. He still remembers how those teachers shouted at him. Even now, at home with his grandmother, he talks about how badly he was treated. We genuinely believe he may be experiencing early signs of PTSD from this environment. I shared our decision to withdraw him with Miss Selena, who was polite and agreed not to charge us for the upcoming month. But surprisingly, she never even asked why we were pulling our child out. That lack of concern was just another indication of how detached the staff can be from the children’s well-being. To any parent reading this: if you value your child's emotional safety and mental development, I strongly urge you to reconsider enrolling in the Happy Hippos class at this location. Our family trusted this school and walked away deeply disappointed and concerned for our son's well-being.

Our son transitioned to this School after being in an in home daycare. He was wasn't quiet 2 years old yet, but quickly began to talk more, share better, and nap more consistently. He has come to love his friends and teachers alike. Dropping you kids off at daycare is never a fun thing to do, but dropping him off at Goddard is easy knowing the level of care that they provide.
