Apologies in advance for this novel of a review, but I really wish more thorough reviews like this had been available when we were on our search. Hopefully this helps others in their pursuit!
Our family came into this search with very high standards. Our first two children attended a preschool with NAEYC accreditation, lower-than-state ratios, and extremely low staff turnover—so when it was time to find a center for our third child, we were cautious, intentional, and frankly a little anxious. Our middle child did attend Children’s Lighthouse briefly when we moved, as our previous center was a long commute from our new house. While I ADORED her pre-k teachers and the administrative staff I developed a relationship with; I do feel like CLH missed the mark on infant care, at least based on observation while our middle child was enrolled there. We then toured several programs in the area, including Rocking Horse Academy, Goddard, St. Stephen’s (for preschool), and more; few met all of our expectations. Primrose stood out immediately.
What ultimately won us over was the way the staff and administration approached our daughter’s transition. She had been home with us for her first year of life, and at 12 months, we weren’t sure whether she should begin in the young toddler room or stay in infants. She wasn’t walking yet, but she was eating table foods and still breastfeeding for naps and bedtime. Primrose didn’t pressure us one way or the other—they offered to let her trial the young toddler class and reassured us that we could move her back at any point if she struggled. That flexibility, and the way they centered her wellbeing, meant a lot.
The first couple of weeks were tough. She cried at drop-off, refused foods we knew she liked, and had a hard time adjusting to cots at nap time. The teachers tried everything—feeding her at the table, on their laps, sitting beside her on the floor. I even came in some days to breastfeed her in a quiet classroom to help her settle. Not once did anyone make me feel like I was inconveniencing them. They simply supported us.
By the end of the second week, things started to click. She began eating meals, napping without needing me to come in, and slowly adjusting to the new routine. Three months later, she walks in smiling, excited to see her teachers, and is genuinely thriving.
Her development has been remarkable. She’s now demonstrating early language skills in three languages—English, Spanish, and American Sign Language. She’s learning new words, colors, gestures, and skills weekly. We reinforce these things at home, but Primrose has clearly been the bridge that’s accelerated her social, emotional, fine motor, and gross motor growth.
We also enrolled our kindergartener in the Primrose Explorer program, and it has exceeded every expectation. She’s always been very shy and reserved, but we’ve seen her become more confident socially and academically since joining. She adores Ms. Chelsea and talks about her constantly. The Explorer program also provides full-day care on school-closure days, which has been a lifesaver. Our second grader joined for one of those days and came home saying he wanted to go every day like his sister—this from a kid who previously insisted he didn’t “need” after-school care.
We’ve experienced other after-school programs in the area, including the onsite YMCA option, and while we appreciated them, the Explorer program is on a different level in terms of structure, attentiveness, and overall experience. We’ve compared it to several local options, and Primrose stands out as the strongest by far.
The decision on where to enroll our youngest stressed me out for months. Looking back, I’m relieved and grateful we chose Primrose. The care, communication, and genuine attention to each child’s needs have made this an exceptional experience for our family. We’re thankful to have a center like this so close to home.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with our daughter’s toddler classroom! The teachers are interactive, warm, and truly engaged with the kids. The student-to-teacher ratio is phenomenal — some of the best care you’ll find in Kyle, Texas!
The classroom itself is always friendly, clean, organized, and perfectly suited for their age group. The teachers consistently involve the children in activities that are both fun and developmentally appropriate, and our daughter especially loves all the singing and playful learning they incorporate.
Overall, we feel grateful to have such a dedicated team caring for our little one. Highly recommend!

My child attends the Pre-K program at Primrose School, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience. The growth we’ve seen in her over the past few months has been incredible. She is now confidently identifying letters, writing her name, and showing a genuine excitement for learning that she brings home every day. The curriculum is engaging, hands-on, and thoughtfully designed to help children build both academic and social skills.
Her teacher, Mrs. Jen, has been an absolute blessing. She is warm, kind, patient, and incredibly nurturing. You can feel the love she has for her students the moment you walk into the classroom. She is a constant, dependable presence who communicates well and truly pays attention to each child’s individual needs. My daughter adores her, and it brings me so much peace knowing she is in such caring and capable hands.
The entire Primrose staff is friendly, professional, and always welcoming. The school environment feels safe, structured, and full of joy. As a parent, I appreciate the frequent updates, the strong communication, and the intentional activities that make every week special.
We are so grateful to Primrose for giving our daughter such a strong foundation and a positive early education experience. I highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a nurturing and high-quality Pre-K program.
