Our family does not usually write public reviews, but the recent changes at Primrose Westlake have been significant enough that I feel it is important to share our experience. We were happy with the school for a long time, but everything shifted very quickly when the franchise owners opened a new location. Many senior staff and administrators were moved to that site, and a large wave of remaining staff resigned soon after. The result is a school that feels unstable and understaffed, and this is entirely due to administrative decisions. The teachers who remain are genuinely lovely. They work hard, they care about the children, and they are doing everything they can in an impossible situation. The problem is not the teachers. The problem is that they have been put in an environment where they cannot succeed. Class sizes are high (24 x 3-year-olds with 2 teachers), ratios are stretched, support is inconsistent, and the overall structure feels chaotic. Both the teachers and the children deserve far better, particularly for the price of enrollment. In one year, our child cycled through four different classrooms with more teachers than we could keep track of. In the same week, our child was left visibly ill all day with a high fever that went unnoticed until pickup, and another child suffered a broken arm with limited explanation from staff. These are not minor issues. They are symptoms of larger problems with supervision and oversight that stem directly from administrative choices. We pulled our daughter out on an emergency basis immediately after that week occurred. It is deeply troubling to see a school decline so rapidly after a leadership shift. The focus appears to be on expansion rather than on maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the children already enrolled. I truly hope Primrose Westlake corrects course and gives these wonderful teachers the support they need, but at this time I would strongly encourage parents to be cautious about enrolling.

From our very first call, we knew Primrose of West Lake Hills was different. We were transferring our daughter from a poorly run daycare (not associated with Primrose Schools), and it was such a relief to meet the caring staff and tour the welcoming environment. From day one, she was loved and nurtured by her teachers, and we watched her vocabulary and independence grow tremendously during her time there. We only transferred because a new location opened closer to our home, eliminating a 40-minute commute—otherwise, we would have happily stayed. We highly recommend Primrose of West Lake Hills!

I had a very disappointing experience with Primrose Westlake and ultimately had to withdraw my son after only a short time. When I first toured the school, I specifically asked Bianca if we could send lunch from home. She told me yes, as long as it was healthy. After I paid the registration fee and enrolled my son, I later learned from the director, Anaya, that a doctor’s letter is required to send food from home. We had just moved to Texas and didn’t have a pediatrician yet, so my son was denied the food I packed and was given school lunch instead, which he barely ate. Then came nap time. I was told children nap from 1–3, but if they didn’t want to nap, they could quietly do other activities. In reality, when I picked my son up, the classroom was pitch dark. Even if a child didn’t nap, they were forced to stay in the dark with nothing to do. My son is afraid of the dark, so I had no choice but to pick him up at 1 p.m. But when I asked Bianca about adjusting tuition, she said it would still be full-day tuition regardless. Because of these miscommunications and misleading information at the tour, I requested a 2-week withdrawal notice instead of the standard 30 days. Anaya as the director could not resolve it, which was disappointing. Thankfully, I was eventually transferred to Chris Mabasa from the Bee Cave location, who was extremely professional, understanding, and immediately approved the 2-week notice. On top of this, the staff at Westlake showed very poor communication. Bianca rarely replied to emails, ignored multiple phone messages, and failed to provide clear, accurate information from the start. And to make matters worse, Celeste at the front desk was unwelcoming, she would give me attitude and eye me every time I walked into the building. For a school that parents are supposed to trust, this is unacceptable. I would not recommend this location due to the unprofessional staff, lack of communication, and overall unfriendly environment- Wafaa. K

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Primrose so far! Between both our children (from young infant through preschool), it’s been amazing to see how much the teachers truly care about their growth and development. They take the time to get to know each child individually, and we feel so supported as parents. Over time, we’ve built so many great relationships not only with the teachers and staff, but also with other families, which has made it feel like a real community. Management also does a great job fostering that sense of connection—whether it’s through fun family events or thoughtful offerings like Parents Night Out. We couldn’t be happier with the care, love, and learning our kids receive here!

Primrose has been a wonderful experience from day one and I believe has benefitted our son's early development in so many ways. The staff and teachers are all wonderful, nice and attentive to all of not only our son's needs, but ours as well. It truly feels like a family atmosphere and the fact that my son runs into school each day says it all.
