Incredibly frustrating dealing with this college. They’re very unprofessional and caused two consecutive semesters to fall through over Pell grant. I was asking the right questions, but nobody could ever advise until it was too late. Most staff I talked to over the course of months seemed irritated by my simple questions. I sent emails with my cougar I.d. and never received a response as well. I work nights so contacting during the day is like the middle of the night for me. Not getting a response to my emails was very upsetting. One time I got off work in the morning and spent all day trying to reach the financial aid office instead of sleeping. Took 30 min to get to first person, 30 min to be transferred. My call was dropped by staff 6 times that day. And believe me, as someone who’s worked in customer service on the phone before, I am NICE on the phone. I already feel like a bother and just want help. I spent all day on the phone and it ended with me waiting on a call back I never received but I waited by the phone for. Ended up not having time to sleep and had to work the whole next day after being up 24 hours. I work in a warehouse and it’s a hard job. In my experience, columbus state community college lacks the support it needs to run. And personally I don’t think it’s worth the hassle anymore. If I go back to college it won’t be at Columbus state. Y’all have PERSONALLY done me dirty at this point.

Brand new campus location:
When I took a class in the fall of 2019, the wireless wifi was VERY slow to the point where it isn’t worth counting on for serious tasks. Facility is very clean and can get overcrowded during the day if you like your personal space to study. I found the student demographic to be very young.
