As an introverted extrovert, I searched for a space where I could be comfortable. I am forever grateful that I found HM Acting. I was plagued with severe stage fright and difficulty with public speaking prior to the coming to the program. I shared my fears when I signed up, and I was assured that I was in the right spot. From the first class, I was met with so much support, encouragement, and training. I was challenged to become aware of myself, my relationship with my sorroundings and others. Through this process I was able to release the guilt of taking up space and confront my fear of being seen. My instructors at HM Acting(Rachel Jones, Catherine Banks and Howard Meyer) have fostered the process of challenging the imposter syndrome and have pushed me to heights I never imagined. The student workshops were instrumental in boosting my confidence and giving me an outlet to share my own work. As a result, my acting and writing resume are growing. The relationships and friendships formed while here have filled my soul. The program has facilitated my own transition through the chrysalis.
