Lawrence Township is the 5th largest school corporation in Indiana, with a history of academic excellence and a reputation as a leader in K-12 education.. Located in the northeast corner of the greater Indianapolis area, Lawrence Township is a residential suburban community governed by two municipalities, the City of Lawrence and Indianapolis. It is home to Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park, Geist Reservoir, Fall Creek Greenway, and miles of hiking and biking trails.
My family has had an exceptional experience with Lawrence Township Schools. The commitment to student success is evident in everything they do, and we are so grateful for the outstanding education our 3 children have received.
One of the standout features is the district's dedication to academic excellence, which challenges students of all abilities with engaging and diverse curriculums. We have also been incredibly impressed with the wide variety of extracurricular activities available, from nationally recognized music and arts programs to competitive athletics.
Beyond academics, the schools foster a truly inclusive and welcoming environment. The strong sense of community and the embrace of diversity are a real strength, and we have felt supported and valued as a family. It's clear that the teachers and staff are deeply committed to their students' well-being and growth. One of our son's was inspired to become a high school history teacher by his government teacher, Mr.Ruffato, at Lawrence North HS. Our other son was inspired to become a strength and conditioning coach by LN's legendary Coach Carol Happ.
We highly recommend Lawrence Township Schools to any family in the area. This is a district that truly invests in its students and its community.

We’ve been Lawrence Township parents for over 13 years, with all five kids in LT schools. I’ve walked through their ups and downs, seeing the great moments and the challenges. The opportunities and access to MCIT, dual credit, Spanish immersion, and more have led them to successful career paths. Our experiences in LT have given me a genuine heart for making sure every child here has the chance to grow and do their best.

I'm am a product of Lawrence Township Schools and now a parent of two in LT schools. Our experience with elementary and middle school over the last 8 years has been fantastic. The administrators and teachers have all been great humans, and great leaders. Some have become good friends. Our girls have loved all of their teachers and still get so excited to bump into them around town now and then. Highly recommend Lawrence Township Schools and the Lawrence community!

Lawrence Township schools benefit from remarkable teachers, staff and leadership at a time when our public schools face numerous challenges. The school district has grown and adapted to these new expectations--with its efforts to improve career and technical education as just one example. I'm proud to be an LT parent and supporter.

MSDLT is a district of distinction and it shows! My son is a Senior graduating from the Spanish Immersion program with an honors and IB diploma. He interns in the community, executive produces the student news, is a leader in Riley Dance Marathon and is a 4 year Varsity swimmer and much more . He excels in and out of the classroom thanks to MSDLT. The diverse, inclusive and welcoming community is the best.
