Primrose School of Algonquin is an accredited daycare located in the Algonquin area that offers infant, toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and after school programs. For over 40 years Primrose preschools has been a trusted household name and a nationally recognized daycare provider committed to forging a path that leads to a brighter future for all children.
I recently went for a walkthrough at a daycare for my 9-month-old baby. At first, the place seemed nice and the teachers were friendly. However, once we entered the infant room, I became very concerned.
There was a small baby lying on the floor, screaming at the top of her lungs. She was so young she couldn’t even roll over. One teacher was busy nursing, and the other was changing another child’s diaper. This baby cried non-stop for at least 10 minutes, and no one attended to her until I pointed it out. I saw one of the teachers walk right past the crying baby without even looking at her. It was heartbreaking to watch.
Another concern I had was hygiene. The teachers were wearing their shoes in the infant room — the same shoes they used to walk into the bathroom or even outdoor. Then they walked across the mats where babies crawl, lick, and put toys in their mouths. When I asked if teachers change into indoor shoes before entering the classroom, they said no.
We ultimately decided not to choose this daycare. If this is how they act when parents are visiting, I can only imagine what happens when no one is watching. While this may be acceptable to some, it’s not something I’m comfortable with for my child.

Out twins attended Primrose for almost 3 years and we have nothing but great things to say. Due to Covid their Pre-K year was unfortunately cut short but my kids still ask and talk about all their teachers and staff from primrose. We are very grateful for the experience they both had here and it has helped them adapt and stay on track with all e learning so far this year with kindergarten.
