Like all great chapters, our time here has come to an end, and it’s bittersweet. From the very beginning, Mrs. McCluster and the admin team made us feel so welcome. My son would light up every time they greeted him or checked in on how he was doing—those small moments meant everything.
Ms. Smith was a wonderful teacher who truly cared. She gave him the comfort and reassurance he needed during those tough early drop-offs, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
With my unpredictable summer work schedule, I often picked him up at odd hours, and yet every time, he was actively engaged—whether in a structured activity or a play-based learning moment. The consistency in the daily schedule speaks volumes about the leadership. It’s clear the staff is given the support and tools they need to stay both engaged and fulfilled in their work.
And I have to give a special shout-out to the cleanliness of the classroom—impeccable! Even during messy crafting moments, the standard of sanitation never slipped, and as a parent, I noticed and truly appreciated that.
This place is a gem, and we’ll miss it dearly!!!

We are so happy we made the switch to this school. The difference was clear right away after transferring from another daycare in Avalon. While the other place meant well, they lacked teachers with the kind of child development experience that only comes from years of working with kids and proper training. There was constant teacher turnover, little understanding of potty training, and I often saw children being scolded for simply acting their age.
Here, it is the complete opposite. The teachers know exactly what they are doing. Many have been here for years and it shows. They are warm, patient, and clearly love working with kids. They focus on redirecting behavior instead of harsh discipline, which makes a huge difference in a child’s day and overall development.
Mrs McCluster and front office staff are always positive and approachable. Communication is excellent and I really appreciate how flexible they are with drop-off times. I also love the uniforms since it is one less thing to think about in the morning.
One of my favorite things is how often they send photos throughout the week. At our old daycare, we rarely got photos, but here we get updates almost daily. It is so fun to see what the kids are up to and have more memories as this time flies by!
Water days and special themed events are always a hit and give the kids something exciting to look forward to. They really go out of their way to make those days special.
Recently, my son had the joy of being in Mrs. Smith’s class. She made such a wonderful impression and he still misses her now that she has returned to her regular classroom for the fall. She really set the bar high with her kindness, patience, and positivity. That said, I have been happy to see the new teachers doing well with the transition and keeping up the great daily habits this school teaches.
It is slightly more expensive than some other options nearby, but you really do get what you pay for. The level of care, experienced staff, and thoughtful approach make it well worth it.
If you have read the book Good Inside and agree with that style of parenting, this is the kind of place where you will likely see those ideas in action. I say that confidently after personally interviewing at every preschool in Avalon Park.
Most of all, I feel confident knowing my child is surrounded by caring, experienced teachers in a nurturing place. This school has been a wonderful fit for our family.

Our baby has been going here for about 2 months now and we absolutely love it! We came from another day care that unfortunately had way too many babies and we didn't feel our baby was getting enough attention or the educational exposure we were looking for. After I toured the facility, I fell in love with the infant teachers. Mrs. Martinez met with me for over 35 minutes and answered all my questions. She has not only been there over 15 yrs., but I could tell she is extremely caring and nurturing and I loved that she is bilingual. Ms. Ritchie is super sweet and very loving. The director Mrs. McCluster, and staff are amazing. Super friendly and very on hands-on with the kids. Mrs. McCluster followed up a few times after my tour to see if I had any questions and was extremely knowledgeable and thorough with all the information. She even went above and beyond to get some information I was seeking. The school is impeccably clean and they have a good and safe system in place to reduce exposure to the children during this pandemic. After visiting other locations in the area we decided to enroll here. They were slightly more expensive than the surrounding daycares, but they are worth every penny. Peace of mind is priceless to me and I definitely felt it here.
Even after 2 months, I always feel welcome when I arrive for drop off and pick up. I can see that they care very much about all their students. I'm super glad we switched over and I can tell our baby is happy and we are at peace knowing that during the day away from us, he's in a safe place with teachers that love him. We look forward to watching our baby grown as he continues being a part of the Primrose at Avalon Family.
