Northwest Children's Center offers both daycare and preschool programs on a full and part time schedule. Northwest Children's Center is State licensed and nationally accredited by NAEYC's National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Our center uses a discovery approach to learning which stresses hands on and child directed materials and builds on the natural inventiveness and curiosity of children this age.
Northwest Children’s Center is a local gem; the level of care provided within its storied walls and well-loved classrooms is nothing short of exceptional. My son’s head teacher, Miss Blaskey, has been there for 20+years; her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness are unmatched. The assistant teacher, Miss Connelly, is herself an NCC graduate, which speaks volumes about the kind of community that the Center fosters.
The program strives to cultivate independence within a structured and nurturing environment. The social emotional growth I’ve seen in my toddler in the three months he’s attended NCC has been amazing to watch. He looks forward to going every morning and asks to stay “5 more minutes” during each and every pickup.
In addition to community engagement, art, music and pre-academic skills, outdoor play and exploration are highly prized. The play yard is the largest, most open and well-equipped I’ve ever seen. I could go on and on….
Our deepest gratitude to the program director, Suzanne Rutner, Miss Blaskey, and the entire team of dedicated teachers at NCC for providing the highest caliber of early childhood education I could ever hope to find for my son.
Ps: If you are someone who prizes techie features like fingerprint security access and communication via the latest app, you may be disappointed to find that pen/paper and hand-written calendars/daily notices reign supreme here. But take heart—while the tech may feel a little bit “old school,” the care, connection, and quality of education are truly cutting-edge where it matters most.

We are so happy with the care of our child here. The teachers are so kind and caring. The hours, price, and snacks are very working family-friendly. The families make a caring and inclusive community. The playground is the largest and most creative I’ve ever seen at a school. We’re extremely happy with the school readiness and play-based approach. This is what a daycare and preschool should be.

Northwest Children's Center is an incredible place for children. My daughter is currently in the 4 year old classroom (The Kangaroo Kids) and really loves her class and teachers. The staff is incredibly hard working and always professional. The teachers are accredited and there is amazing retention of staff (the director worked with my grandmother and the teachers taught my brother and sister 20+ years ago!). The director, Suzanne, sings and plays guitar or piano every single day with each class. My daughter's teacher, Mrs. Nenninger, is thoughftul and sends home a report every day on what the class learned/sang/read. I'm so thankful that I can send my child to a place that makes her feel saved and cared for. I will be sending my other two children here soon as well!

Our daughter started in the infant room and is heading into their preschool program in the fall. They are more than a daycare and preschool. Their curriculum is amazing and exceeds our expectations. We love the staff, they treat our daughter like their own family. It reminds my husband and I of our preschool days. So happy we found Northwest!
