- KSkathy stoneSep 6, 20251.0Don't use Bob Schaefer for your painting needs under any circumstances. In March of this year i hired him to paint my garage for 1600. Apparently this did not include any drywall mudding or taping just spray paint. To make matters worse Bob took his sweet time and while i was out of town and decided to use my garage as a spray painting booth for projects for other customers without my permission. Bob also spray painted my garage door springs and they broke while he was working. He told me he was working for a garage door company and could get me a heavily discounted price for a new garage door. I sent him a picture of the door i wanted. He told me it was $4200. I sent him the money, received no information on the garage door. Upon delivery of the door 3 months later i discovered Bob took an undisclosed mark up on the door for $500 over other labor, materials and even taxes. There was no discount and i paid way over the retail costs. I gave Bob an opportunity to rectify this fraud by returning the money. Bob would have none of it. He feels that the undisclosed $500 charge was warranted. I have subsequently filed with the Better Business Bureau, the Wyoming attorney generals office and the Evanston Business Licensing Department. Next i will be filing against his license and insurance. And finally taking him to court for a judgement. Bob features the doors he painted for others in his May 1st post where you can see the upright doors in my garage. He also did a lousy job of cleaning up and containing his spray as it was all over the garage floor. Heed my advice snd don't ever use New Look Painting...
- TTTim TillerAug 28, 20251.0Bob at New Look Painting was hired to paint this front door and sidelites. When we received the door back from New Look Painting, it looked as if my three-year-old grandson had painted the door. It had dents, hair, dust, red paint mixed into the white paint, top and sides of door not painted. Then he painted the wrong side of the brick mold. Finally, he took the door to one of his current customers house when she was out of town to paint this door. Also, when Bob arrived to discuss these issues, he was intoxicated and not in the right frame of mind. Bob stated "what do you expect for a $1,000 paint job". Bob's paint job costed me over $6,000 to reorder this same door. My advise, do not use his services. If you think I'm not telling you the truth, I can give you more information of the house he used to paint this door.
