- DDDavid DahlDec 14, 20255.0My Carrier furnace, which was 23 years old started having issues Sunday before Thanksgiving. On Monday, a technician came out to check out the furnace found it had a heat exchanger that was going bad. The heat exchanger was under warranty and they would have replaced it for me if I wanted to go that route. I elected to replace the furnace with a new Carrier because I felt I definitely got the life expectancy from the previous furnace. A new furnace was ordered and was scheduled to be installed on December 1. They sent a technician out prior to that time with three portable heaters at no charge that I was able to use while waiting for the new furnace. I found Southport to be very competitive in pricing. They explained all of the energy star rebates, and all of the rebates that they had available as well. I did have a quote from another furnace company in Wausau and found their quote was not as competitive and lacking necessary information to make an informed decision, Everyone I dealt with at Southport was extremely knowledgeable and very responsive to my needs. On December 1, when the furnace was installed, the technicians covered the stairway with cloth to prevent any scratching or damage. The technicians were very knowledgeable, and they completed the work in approximately five hours. they covered how to program the new thermostat as well as how the new furnace would be functioning. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC work.

We were in desperate need of a new tank as ours was at the end of its life and was not installed correctly from the previous owners. Im very pleased with how quickly they were able to get a technician out to us who was very friendly and professional. I appreciate that Tim wore shoe covers and explained everything he was doing. He got everything done in less than the time frame he gave us. Very greatful for their services and the cookies they sent us after was a nice touch 🍪

He explained everything he needed to do, and make sure all plumbing fixtures that he had to work on, were up to code. Our house is 80 years old and some things were outdated and not up to code! He gave me choices of things that needed to be updated, and if I wanted them changed now, or if I will have them changed at a later date. I would recommend Southport Home Services! I will use them again in the future.
