It was long past time to have them fixed or replaced. Due to the online reviews, I chose It's Your Houtz Screens to tackle the job. I left a message on the website and Angie contacted me that same day to set up an appointment. A day or so later, I walked her through the house, she explained what needed to be done and how she would do it, talked about options, including going for screen frames that were just a bit thicker than the current ones, which would make them a bit more durable, and took the measurements to be sure she had the data to do the job and prepare the estimate. A day later, I had a reasonable estimate, which I promptly signed. That same day, Angie set up an appointment for 10 days later to carry out the work (there was no urgency for this work, so I was fine with a small delay). On the day the work was to be done, Angie showed up a few minutes early, pulled the screens, and set up in the driveway to do the work. A few hours later, she started putting the completed screens back in the frames. A couple of them had a side that proved to be just a bit too thick for the existing groove (remember that we had discussed going with a slightly thicker frame). She didn't even blink, just pulled the screens and replaced the problem frames with a slightly less thick frame. A short time later, those screens slid into place without incident. All in all, Angie amply demonstrated the four Cs of excellent contracting: Cost, Competence, Commitment, and Communication. The whole experience was painless, the communication flawless, the cost reasonable, the commitment to showing up on time and getting the job done right was exemplary, the work was done competently, and I'm very pleased with the results. Highly recommended.
