- BBBrandon4 days ago1.0UPDATE: based on the response from the owner, I would like to clarify I was NOT told BEFORE proceeding only while the job was in progress , I have call logs showing a call at 12:26 telling me that its gana take an hour per window about to finish , still I did agree to continue he started his time at 10:30. He stated it was gana be longer then expected. Also it was NOT explained to me the additional 20% part, the cost of materials was explained but not the 20% up charge. The owner can call me freely when you like of you want to discuss this. DO NOT USE the handy man himself was wonderful to interact and stand up gentleman. But the service department who quoted this job grossly undervalued it. The original quote was 44 windows stripped and caulked 8 hours 800 to 1100$ okay fine. I misscounted the individual windows glass and it was more like 27 windows instead. I told the gentlemen on the phone I dont belive he was gana finish in 8 hours. BUT 1 WINDOW ?! For 5 hours ? The people who also quoted me failed to mention the 20% price attached to materials that needed to be purchased. 800$ for 5 hours for ONE windows is insane!? Luckily he agreed to remove the caulk he didnt end up using wich brought it down to 770$ but I am not happy at all. The handy man even mentioned to his boss this job was not be 8 hours and said they've done this to other customers. The guy was awsome and the lady answering the call was also wonderful but who ever initially quoted me this job/ ace handyman service is terrible. Which sucks because I love ace hardware store but man did you guys drop the ball on this. Never again ace never again.

And a huge thanks to Ted for coming to the rescue quickly to do a temporary but solid fix so that we could still have Thanksgiving. Both Brett and Ted were courteous and professional and extremely knowledgeable. We will use Ace Handyman Smithfield again for other home service needs, and I would highly recommend them!

Ted was very prompt for the appointment, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the issues we were having with our faucet. He even took the time to resolve an issue we had with our fireplace free of charge, as well as answered questions we had about adding a bathroom/plumbing on the main level, electrical circuit breakers and a host of other home improvements options. His support team (Kierra) was also very friendly and gave us a reminder call about the appointment. One of the biggest reasons why I wish we could give Ted TEN stars is because he truly cares about his profession, his work ethics and his employees - and expressed trust in the employee's being capable of fixing/repairing anything just as well as he can. BRAVO, Ted/Ace Handyman... you have a client for LIFE! We plan to refer Ted to EVERYONE we know!!
