Hired Gen3 because I noticed the air blowing from my 3 heating units was not getting hot. The technician, Jaden, was friendly and by the end was able to partially repair the issue. With the partial repair, the heat is working so no matter what that’s a win, and for his work I would give him 4 stars.
That said, I do think the entire repair could have been finished in a single visit had the process been a bit more efficient. I suspect that refrigerant leaks are a common issue so I would have expected this diagnosis to be a part of the initial fee to assess what was wrong with the heating system, $129. It was not. The initial diagnosis was low refrigerant so the technician returned to base to get the supplies needed.
When he returned to my home, he suggested checking for a leak as well. As a customer I assumed this had already been done since he’d confirmed that the refrigerant was low. To check for the possible leak it would be another $534. Since it makes little sense to fill up the refrigerant if there is in fact a leak, I agree.
After refilling the refrigerant and checking for a leak, Jaden confirmed there was a small leak, which he didn’t have the part for in his truck to repair. Had this diagnostic test been performed in conjunction with checking the low refrigerant he could have gotten all the supplies need for my entire repair instead of needing to return next week. For that I had to remove a star. I’m also not sure that the cost to diagnosis the leak should be more than repairing it. The cost of repair, $187 vs $534 to diagnose.
Overall the woman who scheduled, along with the dispatcher, and Jaden were all polite and professional. I would recommend their services and even signed up for their maintenance plan.

Joe H. from Gen 3 Electric came out to our home today to install a radiant heater in our office. He was on time, courteous and clearly knew what he was doing because it's no longer freezing in our office Lol! Thanks to Joe and Gen 3 Electric for the great work. I'll also add that during the estimating process, they were very responsive and nothing short of professional. We would definitely use them again. Highly recommend!

Ed did a very good job and helped us get everything straightened out fairly quickly. He was knowledgeable and pleasant, and got on well with our dog. All in all, we would be very happy to have Ed come out and assist us again should we have any further electrical difficulties

10 stars!!! Ky was amazing!!!!! Great communicator. Throughout the appointment, he was calm, attentive, and solution driven. He took time to thoroughly examine the issue with the HVAC and explained options to me on the phone, while also communicating with the tenant. In addition, he went above and beyond to secure the part and install the same day. Wow!!!! He indicated it could take a day or so, if in stock, but the effort to resolve the issue immediately was first class! I will 1000% use this company again and I hope this review does some justice to show my gratitude for the service. Much appreciated, Ky we both thank you. It’s always nice to work with great human beings. Thank you!

Good experience with prompt availability, and calling in support from GEN3 staff and troubleshooting electric in a historic building in Olde City Philadelphia. Great insight as to PECO low voltage service to the building, this is a company that addresses root causes of electric problems. A bridge previously installed between two breakers by GEN3 in 2020 may not have been completely resolved, as it seems to be the water heater breaker and keeps tripping, but expect GEN3 electricians to be able to return to address this.
After this repair on a Friday, the old water heater quit working, not related, it was just an old water heater. Rob Pallister from GEN3 came out promptly on Monday, and by Wednesday, New Year’s Eve the water heater was installed. Additional work was needed on the day after New Year’s and Rob was again available, and promptly had the new hot water heater working. He also was diligent in investigating the low voltage on the 240 line, taking a trip down to the basement to trouble shoot, and in the process determining that this is expected for the power input to the building. (So, I cancelled my low voltage complaint to PECO.). Rob was quickly available the following Monday to ensure everything in the cramped water heater/laundry closet was working properly.
Our experience with the electricians and appliance repair at GEN3 is very good, in an old building, in a congested part of the city.
Everyone we interacted with at GEN3, in person or on the phone, was so very pleasant and responsive.
