The mini excavator that I purchased, for the limited time that I was able to use it, needless to say I was very pleased with it. However that's as far as I can go. In under 40hrs of use it developed a hydraulic leak in the turret motor. I initiated a phone call to the company letting them know of my issue. At that point in time it was still under warranty, although it was towards the end of the cutoff. They were polite and stated they would take care of me. As it would turn out that was not how things progressed. They requested that I send them photos and video of where it was leaking which I did provide to them. Due to my work schedule and the distance of living out of state I was unable to deliver the unit for them to work on. I requested that they send me the part and I would just do it myself, they stated for it to be covered under warranty the work had to be done by them or an affiliate. Since I only have Sundays off from work I inquired as to maybe dropping it off to their facility on a Sunday and they could just work on it at their leisure. That idea was firmly rejected with the statement that it was not only a place of business but also a place of residence and that the gate would be locked on Sunday so I would not have access to drop it off. In my particular situation I cannot afford to lose a day of work just to take the unit almost 7 hours up into PA for them to look at. I made multiple phone calls trying to get something worked out but to no avail. Thankfully an ex co-worker of mine worked out a deal with his brother to take the unit to a local distributor in my state. I just received a phone call from that local state dealer stating that the groundhog company in PA will not honor the warranty even though they admitted to him that I did initiate the phone call for repairs but before the warranty had ended. Now granted this has played out over a few months since the initial phone call and the unit is no longer under warranty. My point is I initiated the phone call for repairs before the end of my warranties cut off and was told that Iit would be taking care of, as it turns out that was a lie. Although I do like the machine I will not buy from these people again. I try to trust people and take them for their word which is on my shoulders. It's just sad that a business is going to lose a customer for their business practices. I understand the point of making money, if you don't make money you won't have a business. However in my opinion you should also stand by your word and be honest. When you have integrity you earn respect which is always a good thing for a business. Unfortunately they have lost mine on both counts regarding my business and my respect.
