We needed 2 - 7ft pieces of vinyl siding reattached due to wind. We recovered the pieces. Small job. 30 minutes tops. I called Ireland and the woman told me their minimum was $899 ! Absolutely absurd. Needless to say, we did not hire them, nor will we ever hire Ireland for anything. I'm really tired of companies trying to take advantage of people. We are HONEST, and we don't appreciate dishonest, money grabbing contractors.

I recently worked with Chad and Lora to complete my home’s roof replacement. I was weary of this home project because it’s such a big, daunting project but Ireland made our experience super easy. We’ve had some temperature issues with our second floor that we believed were stemming from the old roof. I worked with Chad and he was able to complete an inspection and offer up recommendations for the new roof that would help alleviate some of our issues. The crew that completed the work was incredibly fast and efficient. We’re a couple months in with the new roof and can say that our home is keeping better temperature.

Willy is a very good salesman and helped me through the process every step of the way. Your company is very lucky to have him. Rob is a very good project manager and very knowledgeable and took me though every step of the project and was very good in directing the men. As far as the workers they are very hard workers and very polite and truly cared about their work. The roof looks great and you wouldn’t know they were even here the place was left spotless. I would truly recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ireland Contracting LLC
What types of roofing materials are best for homes in Western Pennsylvania?
For homes in Western Pennsylvania, it's crucial to choose roofing materials that can handle the region's varied weather conditions. Asphalt shingles are a popular choice due to their affordability and resilience. Metal roofing is another excellent option, known for its longevity and ability to shed snow effectively. For those with historic homes or seeking a distinctive look, slate or tile roofing can be ideal, though they come at a higher price point. Each material has its strengths, making it suitable for the challenging climate of Western PA.
How do I know if my roof needs repair or replacement?
Several indicators suggest your roof may require repair or replacement. These include shingles that are missing, cracked, or curling; water stains or leaks visible inside your home; a roofline that appears to sag or is uneven; shingle granules accumulating in your gutters; and the age of your roof, as most asphalt shingle roofs typically last between 20 to 25 years. If you notice any of these signs, it's advisable to have a professional assessment.
What is the typical lifespan of a roof in Western PA?
The lifespan of a roof in Western Pennsylvania varies depending on the material used. Asphalt shingles generally last between 20 to 25 years. Metal roofs have a longer lifespan, often ranging from 40 to 70 years. Slate roofs can last anywhere from 50 to 100 years. It's important to note that Western PA's weather conditions, including heavy snow, rain, and temperature fluctuations, can impact a roof's durability. Regular maintenance can help extend your roof's life expectancy.
Do I need to clear snow off my roof in winter?
While it's not always necessary to remove snow from your roof, it's recommended when accumulation exceeds 12 to 18 inches, particularly if it's heavy, wet snow. Excessive snow buildup can lead to issues such as ice dams, leaks, and increased structural stress on your roof. For safety reasons, it's advisable to hire a professional for snow and ice removal rather than attempting to climb onto the roof yourself.
How much does a new roof cost in Western PA?
The cost of a new roof in Western Pennsylvania can vary significantly based on factors such as your home's size, the chosen roofing material, and the complexity of the installation. For a standard-sized home, asphalt shingle roofs typically range from $5,000 to $10,000. Metal roofing costs can fall between $10,000 and $20,000, while slate or tile roofs may exceed $20,000. It's recommended to obtain multiple estimates from licensed contractors for an accurate quote tailored to your specific needs. Keep in mind that local weather conditions and accessibility may influence the final cost.
Why work with a Leading Manufacturer Certified roofing company?
Choosing a Leading Manufacturer Certified roofing company, such as an Owens Corning certified contractor like Ireland Contracting, ensures that you're working with a company that has been vetted for using high-quality products and following best installation practices. These certifications often come with manufacturer warranties covering both materials and workmanship, backed by established companies. It's important to verify the warranty details, which can range from 20 to 50 years for materials, and to check the contractor's own workmanship warranty.
If the roof takes more than 1 day will my roof be sealed up in case of rain?
Rest assured, your roof will be properly secured at the end of each workday to prevent any potential water infiltration due to unexpected rainfall.
Will my homeowner's insurance cover a roof replacement?
Homeowner's insurance may provide coverage for roof replacement if the damage is caused by specific events such as storms, fire, or other incidents covered by your policy. However, it's important to note that standard wear and tear over time is typically not included in insurance coverage.
What should I do to prepare for a roof replacement?
To prepare for a roof replacement, it's advisable to move outdoor furniture to a safe location and protect it from potential debris. Cover valuable items stored in your attic with dust sheets to prevent any damage. Inform your neighbors about the upcoming project to maintain good relations. Additionally, remove any fragile objects from your porch and the immediate vicinity of your home to prevent accidental breakage during the roofing process.
How much does a new Generator Cost? Electrical panel upgrade?
