I rarely write reviews for a business, however others need to be aware of the deception, insane prices and ruthless upsell practices to get you to overspend on unnecessary "fixes." My furnace is 9 years old and my house is 24 years old. My furnace was cycling on and off frequently and not staying up to temperature. Had Hearn check out the problem. They did a cleaning 150 bucks (no biggie). I then ask what is causing the cycling issues. They told me my duct work wasn't getting enough return (most homes don't get enough return) and that was causing too much heat and shutting down the furnace. They said the best solution was raising up my furnace and redoing the intake duct work to improve return... OVER 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS. More than the value of the furnace itself at the time of purchase. Why not just buy a new furnace. Anyways... Also my carbon monoxide PVC exhaust pipes were not angled correctly and a few other things. Granted I never had an issue in the 12 years I've lived here and neither did the previous owner. They lowered the blower speed to reduce air resistance in the duct work. Charged me 100 bucks to literally move a wire from one position to another and restest the system. It's a 3 speed blower. This failed to fix the problem. They came back later at no charge (wow thanks). Retested everything and then said oh the problem is your pressure sensor switch due to too much pressure in your carbon monoxide exhaust PVC pipes. So to change the angle of my PVC pipe to relieve pressure. Mind you PVC costs like 2 bucks at a hardware store and to put in a new pressure sensor switch $1080 dollars!!!!!!! Pressure sensor switch is like 30 bucks. Plus they still wanted me to fix my duct work at over 3 grand. Scam, Scam, Scam. Don't get raked over the coals from Hearn. They will charge you insane prices for ridiculous upsell suggestions.

Hearn has just replaced my well due to a low pressure situation. As a newer home owner I did not know much about wells. They not only did a great job replacing what needed replaced, they did a great job informing me why it needed replaced and gave me several options. Big shout out to Pete and Brian on doing what they know and helping solve the repairs. You guys deserve a raise!

I have only written about 2 reviews in my life, it is not something I do habitually. The service needs to be either really exceptional, or really poor. On 10/30/2025 we called Hearn out for a mainline backup we were experiencing. They were able to get someone out that day and did waive the 85.00 service fee (which was kind, because the other plumbers I have called don’t have one at all. The tech Brian expressed to us that since he was here last year to snake it, it may be time for an upgrade which, despite what he wrote in his explanation to both us and the company we did look at these prices and packages. The prices ranged from 500 something to 54,000. I chose the 1,100 dollar something package for now and he got right to work. Before long during the snaking services, it was discovered we have a crushed pipe, and he couldn’t go past it. I looked at the video footage of this and can confirm there was standing water in the area. Brian did not capture the images during his visit, something he should have done both for his company, and for us since we purchased them, and may want to take them to get other estimates. Upon discovering this our next option was to get a package of just under ten grand to install a clean out and remove and replace a small section of pipe where the integrity was compromised. He quoted 7,948 of we removed the warranty, which I didn’t even know was a thing as seems unprofessional. I asked Brian if we would be paying our charges for today. He said 50%. His prices for the kept changing all day and he made mistake after mistake with them. Brian spent a lot of time looking at different loans for us, and was very kind. Again though, when I asked if I could just go to the bank Monday and have our entire balance from the day rolled into the project they were going to do Wednesday, he said yes but ended up being no. There is no consistency. Honestly, I’m glad I got a second to think despite the “choose now or you’re out 50%” type feel. National average for midrange sewer line replacement is 4,000-8,000. Why would I pay near 10k for a clean out and removal of one section of pipe? The pricing is inflated. They tell you quality, but they are willing to remove their warranty to get you to sign the second you pull back a little. They charge 400 to pull and reset a toilet. Ask yourself how much quality pulling and resetting a toilet takes? It’s just inflated pricing. We do use them for our heating services and this is the only reason I am giving them two stars. We have had no issues there, it’s been easy and everyone seems very knowledgeable. Pricing still applies. ****I am adding an edit to this review after Tom contacted me today to address the review and my dissatisfaction. He listened to my concerns, was kind and reasonable and did agree to refund my money. I had a poor service experience and that remains, but this company does have integrity and are willing to make things right. I was not asked to change my review, in fact Tom stated he appreciated the feedback.
