Got confirmation immediately, call when the techs were en route. They explained the problem under sink (prior owner did not plumb correctly). Said they could fix how it was but wouldn’t be permanent, and do it correctly was a little more cash but the right way. They quoted me half what the last plumber did to fix the error, and instead of doing a quick fix and allowing me to call them twice a year for a clogged drain, it was done right the first time. Courtesy, honesty, and knowledge go a long way and the team had them in spades. I have found my plumber going forward.
