- HMHarris MorgensternDec 30, 20255.0Alpine Air installed a Fujitsu air source heat pump in my house, replacing a 40 year old oil furnace. They also replaced most of the existing ductwork in my basement with larger ductwork that can move more air volume. I've only been using the heat pump for a week, but it is effectively heating my home with much cleaner air than my old oil furnace was circulating. At 30% humidity, the air in the house is on the dry side, so it might be necessary to use a warm mist humidifier. The unit supposedly will work down to -15F -- the temperature where I live dropped to 6F one night and the unit performed well. At the time of this post I haven't seen my electric bill, so I can't provide any information about the cost of ownership.
