My neighbor across the street rented a porta for the summer. On 9/9 they sent a truck to pick it up and as the truck was pulling into the driveway the john already on the truck caught the main internet wiring for our street and started to stretch it. I ran outside my house yelling at the guy that he was caught on the wires. He waved, smiled and pulled his truck up. He proceeded to load my neighbors john onto the truck and again started stretching the wires to fit the john on the truck. Though the lines hung a little lower I still had internet. Fast forward to 9/11 and they sent a tank truck out who proceeded to get caught on the same wires and ripped them off the poles so that it was hanging maybe 5’ off the ground. The driver got out, looked at wiring then got back in his truck and left! This company didn’t even have the decency to call the internet provider or tell my neighbor what happened! I’ll be turning the video over to the internet provider so that they can get reimbursed from this “company”.

During the fall of 2021, our roofing company made the mistake of hiring United Site Services to provide an on-site portable potty at the end of our driveway during their project. During the initial delivery, the driver proceeded to drive 40+ feet into our backyard creating two deep trenches at least 150 long. Our roofers proceeded to chew him out for such disregard and told him not to do it again. During the first cleaning of the potty, the same or different driver proceeded to drive 15-20 feet into our backyard making two deep trenches 80+ feet long. Our roofers chewed him out for repeating the same disregard - at this time, they made an initial call to United Site Services and were assured that they would speak to the driver and that this would never happen again. On the 3rd and 4th cleanings of the potty, the driver backed into our back yard to such a degree that, on the 4th occasion, his truck got stuck while he spun his wheels and our roofers had to pull him out. On this occasion, I finally called and got ahold of the Jackson, NJ site manager, Chris Nappi, who initially responded with wonderful good faith, assuring me that, "even if he had to pay for the repair himself, he would make sure that everything back to normal and that we were happy." Since it was November, I told him that we would not be repairing the horrifically marred portion of our yard until the spring but would circle back once we had and provide a record of the expenses related to the repair. Last month (June) we finally got an invoice from our landscaping company for the labor, seed, sod, etc that was used to repair our backyard in mid-April. I contacted Chris Nappi again, informed him that the repairs had been completed, and sent him a copy of the invoice. He suggested that he would be back to me by the end of the day with confirmation for reimbursement to be made - no call came. I contacted him the following afternoon, and he suggested that he would be back to me no later than the following day with confirmation of reimbursement to be made - no call came. I attempted to contact him three times over the next 4+ days with no response. Today, I then called from a different phone number - he picked up. But now, he begins to question me regarding the fact that it is 9 months later (even though I told him we would not be circling back until repairs were made and invoice received.) He suggested that he would have never offered to fully reimburse, much less personally reimburse. He suggested that any reimbursement would require an investigation, etc, etc. The completely unnecessary injury to our yard was an appalling result of negligence and thoughtless incompetence. While the manager's initial response could not repair the unsightly damage, it seemed that they were intent on doing the right thing - until it was time to act. Unfortunately, his ultimate response has added unthinkable insult to the initial injury and puts on full display the true nature of the organization.

$600 per month for 1 basic toilet on our job site through this company. This is an absurd amount of money for a toilet rental, never again.

Frequently Asked Questions About United Site Services

What are the guidelines for A.D.A. restrooms?

United Site Services offers portable wheelchair accessible restrooms that are A.D.A. compliant for use on a construction site, commercial area, or special event in some areas. Where available, our A.D.A. units are large enough and contain the proper elements to meet the standards that have been outlined by the 'Americans with Disabilities Act'. Specifically, the statute states that for single user portable toilets clustered at a single location, at least 5% but no less than one toilet unit shall be installed at each cluster whenever typical inaccessible units are provided. Accessible units shall also be identified by the International Symbol of Accessibility. The exception is that if portable toilet units are used exclusively by construction personnel who do not require the use of an A.D.A. unit, you are not required to comply with this statute. (Federal Register/Vol. 56, No. 144/July 26, 1991/Rules and Regulations/4.1.2 Accessible Site and Exterior Facilities: New Construction). For the complete set of A.D.A. guidelines relating to portable restrooms, please contact our office or view our Regulations page.

How much does it cost to rent a Porta Potty?

There are a few factors to consider that can affect the total Porta Potty rental price. What is the length of my event, hours, days, weeks, months? The length of time the unit will actually be in use directly affects how many toilets you might need to order. Weekend event portable toilets and sinks are typically delivered on a weekday leading up to the event and picked up on a weekday following the event. Weekend delivery, service or pickup is available at an additional charge. Upgrades, like flushing toilet restrooms or restrooms with hand wash sinks will be at a higher rental rate than basic Porta Potty rentals. A.D.A. accessible restrooms might be required for your public event, large or small. The standards that have been outlined by the Americans with Disabilities Act state that for single user portable toilets clustered at a single location, at least 5% but no less than one A.D.A. accessible portable toilet shall be provided at each cluster. If you are on a construction job site, you will need to follow A.N.S.I. restroom requirements for the number of toilets needed on site.
