My husband and I ordered windows for our new construction home after being warned by several people of the problems they experienced. What a mistake! While they were great to deal with in the beginning, as soon as the windows were delivered the never-ending problems began. For starters, they sent several hundred dollars of material with our windows that we never ordered or asked for. When our contractor began installing the ordered windows he realized several windows were missing. It took MULTIPLE unreturned phone calls over the course of two weeks just to be told the missing windows were backordered. A week later we were told that in fact our windows were never actually backordered, they had been broken during delivery and the person who had broken them had returned them to their warehouse and simply neglected to tell anyone. This company then decided to deliver the broken windows to our house and insisted that our contractor would need to install the broken windows before they could repair them. We have now had broken windows hanging in our house for over three weeks, made countless unreturned phone calls, and have no idea what this company plans to do. The only time they have contacted us was to ask when we plan to pay the unpaid balance on our account. Imagine our surprise to learn that not only were we charged for all those unordered materials, we were also charged several hundred dollars more than our original quote. Good thing we kept a copy of the original paperwork! Save yourself a huge headache and avoid GBS Building Supply!
