0/5 experience with this company. While I did not have concrete services performed, I did encounter their employees in their employee truck. I was made to feel very uncomfortable as a single female in a gas station parking lot after I was cat called at.
Highly uncomfortable. I felt unsafe. I would not recommend these people if this is how they act.
LP of the truck the employee was driving was BD42025. Hopefully you can have a conversation with your employees regarding sexual harassment while on the clock.

I have used Rockford Concrete a few times over the years at various homes with have renovated. Tim and his crew have always done a great job in communication and each project we have done has turned out great. The guys were very detailed in making sure things were done correctly.
One project was putting in an in ground pool. When Rockford Concrete showed up to pour concrete they noticed the excavators did not do things correctly in grading and adding enough sand. Tim said they would correct it so we didn’t have issues with the concrete cracking later. I appreciated they went the extra step so it was done right versus just pouring concrete and moving on.
I would suggest Rockford Concrete to anyone that asked for a recommendation.

Tim was very responsive to our questions and made us feel good about the process. We had intended to utilize their service, but our timing didn’t align.

There is exceptionally poor communication, lack of professionalism, and lack of respect for customers and their time.
I contacted Rockford Stamped Concrete back in April 2020 about doing a job for us. We discussed it and got a quote. We were ready to move forward with the job in June. It was very difficult to get a response to phone calls or emails(I was told by Tim this was his preferred method of communication). I sent an email nearly every week until I heard back. We were told we were on the schedule for the beginning of October, but no further details were given, even when asked. The beginning of October came and went. I emailed during the third week of October and he told me that they were busy and he had a lack of manpower, but we were still on their schedule (again, no further details). Weeks went by with no communication. I finally called Tim the first week of December. I asked if they were still doing jobs. He told me they would be doing jobs for a week or two more. I asked if he had contacted the customers that he told were on his schedule to let them know their jobs weren't going to be done. He simply answered "no". There was no explanation, no apology, nothing. I have waited over 6 months for this job to be done to find out it won't be done at all, and the worst part seems to me that HE DOESN'T CARE. There is exceptionally poor communication, lack of professionalism, and lack of respect for customers and their time.

Had pool installed by a reputable contractor. Rockford Stamped Concrete was the sub that was chosen. One week later cracks began to show up. One and a half year later, cracks are worst and now the pool edge is cracked at everyone of the expansion joints. There response? Tough, that is what concrete does they state.
Also, in having the pool deck installed. They continued to provide Day and time to pour and they never came out. They finally did arrive three weeks after original date. Every time we attempted to contact them to find out where the were they would not pick up phone or communicate. When questioned we told they had other jobs that were more important.
Frequently Asked Questions About Rockford Stamped Concrete
Will concrete damage my yard?
When working with concrete, using machinery like a Bobcat is necessary. Yard damage is expected due to the weight of the materials. We make efforts to minimize lawn damage by avoiding sharp turns and distributing the weight over a larger area.
How does our schedule work?
We usually work on three or four projects per week. Stamped concrete projects take three partial working days to complete, with the first day spent on excavation, forming, and grading. The second day involves pouring and stamping, while the third day includes stripping forms, washing, sealing, and final cleanup. Brushed concrete projects typically take two or three days. We pour concrete during cooler temperatures for longer setting and working time. Scheduling is also affected by factors like weather, redi-mix and pump truck availability.
Do you have a showroom I can visit?
You can use the pattern and color chart pictures on this website, along with the paper color charts I provide, to choose your stamped concrete design. We currently use the showroom at Concrete Central in Grand Rapids, located at 1301 Century Ave. SW. Open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.M to 5:00 PM.
Are we a good match for another?
While we appreciate the opportunity to meet and speak with you, not all projects are a good fit. Sometimes we decline projects when the scope is either too small, the required skill set for the project differs from our core skill set, or if the budget/schedule do not work for us. Not every project is suitable for us, nor are we the right contractor for every customer or project.
Does stamped concrete require a lot of maintenance?
Concrete can be easily cleaned with clean or soapy water. Power washing is usually the least labor-intensive method.
Concrete sealer is a coating that must be applied in very thin layers to perform correctly. For this reason, it will wear away over time and periodically needs to be reapplied to protect your concrete and keep it looking great. Typically, the sealer we use needs to be refreshed every three or four years.
We perform reseals as one of our services. We send out an annual letter informing customers from 4 years prior that it is likely time to reseal their stamped concrete and what the cost will be. We also provide the option for the homeowner to do it themselves, and inform them of the sealer we use and outline steps of how to do it.
Will stamped concrete crack?
Yes. All concrete is prone to cracking, which includes both stamped and regular gray concrete. Most of the time concrete “behaves” and cracks in control joints that we create for the purpose of making the concrete crack in those places. However, there are occasions where the concrete will crack in an unwanted place. These are often referred to as hairline cracks.
We try to minimize the possibility of unwanted cracking through proper base preparation and placing control joints where we think they are needed, as well as trying to keep the amount of water in the mix as low as possible while still workable. We use saws made to cut concrete early, usually the same day we pour. Despite these efforts, we still get occasional unwanted cracking. Many studies have been performed over the past century in this area and the results have shown that cracking is an inherent part of concrete as a material. The National Association of Home Builders states in their Residential Construction Performance Guidelines for Professional Builders and Remodelers, Section 12-4-4 “Minor concrete cracking is normal and to be expected. Control joints are placed in the concrete to help control cracks and provide a less visible area for them to occur. Cracking can be caused by elements outside of the contractor’s control. The repaired area may not match the existing area in color and texture.”
What kind of concrete services do you provide?
We specialize in decorative concrete, stamped concrete, brushed finishes, stained concrete, and resealing services. Whether you're looking to enhance your outdoor spaces with custom designs or protect and maintain your existing concrete, we’ve got you covered.
Why is concrete resealing necessary?
Concrete resealing is essential to protect your investment and maintain its beauty and durability. Over time, exposure to weather, UV rays, moisture, and traffic can cause stamped, stained, and dyed concrete to fade or become vulnerable to color fading and excessive wear. Resealing creates a protective barrier that:
- Shields against water damage and harsh chemicals.
- Restores the color and texture of decorative or stamped concrete.
- Enhances durability, extending the life of your concrete.
Without regular resealing (every 2–3 years), concrete is more likely to lose its vibrant look and become more susceptible to surface wear and discoloration.
What is stamped concrete?
Stamped concrete is a decorative technique where patterns and textures are imprinted into freshly poured concrete to mimic the look of natural stone, brick, wood, or tile. It’s a cost-effective way to achieve a high-end appearance for patios, driveways, walkways, and more.
What is decorative concrete?
Decorative concrete is a type of concrete that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. By using techniques such as stamping, staining, coloring, and texturing, decorative concrete transforms ordinary surfaces into beautiful, customized designs. It can mimic the look of materials like natural stone, brick, wood, or tile while offering the durability and cost-effectiveness of concrete.
Common applications for decorative concrete include patios, driveways, walkways, pool decks, and interior floors, making it a versatile option for both residential and commercial spaces.
Will concrete work damage my yard?
Using machinery like a Bobcat is necessary for concrete work, which may cause yard damage due to material weight. Efforts are made to minimize damage by avoiding sharp turns and distributing weight over larger areas.
How does the project schedule typically work at Rockford Stamped Concrete?
We work on three to four projects weekly. Stamped concrete projects take three partial days, including excavation, pouring, stamping, and finishing. Brushed concrete takes two to three days. Scheduling depends on weather and equipment availability.
