I purchased an old mobile home (1974) with an old furnace that needed some minor work and maintenance. I have used HVAC PRO three times for 3 different issues over the last few years. Always great, knowledgeable service at a reasonable price and quick, too!

Just want to convey how impressed I was with the professionalism that Tech Ryan had in my furnace repair this week. On top of clearly knowing his job, he actually seemed to love what he was doing! This reflects in not only his work, but the company as a whole. Thanks, Ryan!

To say I'm disappointed would be a challenge with HVAC Pros. Our house in Howell was having issues with the furnace. We have a utility company insurance plan and they recommended this company. When they came to inspect the furnace, they determined it was the heat exchanger. They shut down the furnace, which was the right thing to do IF it actually was the heat exchanger. When we tried to get the furnace back up and running, they said that it would be a week until they could make the repair. I said that wasn't an option. However, knowing it is winter in Michigan, I said keep the appointment on their schedule but I would be working to find something quicker. I found a company to come out that day to do the repair.
However, the new HVAC company found that it wasn't the heat exchanger but a gas valve. And they were able to repair it that day. Not a week to wait to get warm again. I called HVAC Pros the next day, left a voicemail canceling the appointment and thought all was well with the world.
Fast forward to the following Tuesday, I was notified that HVAC Pros were in the house, had already taken out the heat exchanger without my permission. I immediately instructed them to put back the original heat exchanger as it was not broken. Two days later (Thanksgiving eve), the fire department had to be called as the union valve was leaking. All residents needed to be evacuated immediately.
On Thanksgiving Day, I again contacted the company who did the correct and cost efficient repair on furnace and they determined that the valve was not even finger tight and the wiring for the heat exchanger could have cause the furnace to explode.
To say I'm infuriated is no understatement. To put our residents in harm's way is simply immature and horribly irresponsible. My recommendation is to be very careful with this company.

Consider replacing your current home comfort system if repair costs reach 30% of the price of a new system. Additionally, if your utility bills have increased by 50% due to an older, less efficient system consuming more electricity at higher rates, replacement may be the better option.
How much can I save with new equipment?
Home heating and cooling systems typically account for about 44% of a household's energy expenses. Modern ENERGY STAR certified systems can be up to 60% more efficient than equipment that's a decade old, potentially leading to significant savings on your energy bills.
Is installing a central HVAC system really necessary?
For new constructions or home renovations, a central HVAC system is often the most effective solution. It provides comprehensive comfort, superior indoor air quality, and better humidity control throughout the entire home.
What is the best thermostat to use with my system?
A programmable thermostat is recommended for precise, dependable, and energy-efficient performance. For enhanced convenience and savings, consider our Residential Communicating Control with Wi-Fi capability, which allows you to program your system remotely using mobile devices.
How can I be sure I am selecting the right contractor?
It's advisable to choose a contractor associated with a well-known brand. Contractors backed by major manufacturers' product knowledge and training resources are better equipped to recommend a home comfort system that meets your specific needs.
How do I select the right heating/cooling system?
Consult with an experienced professional. A qualified contractor can perform a load calculation or energy analysis to determine your operating costs. After assessing your requirements, they can recommend a system tailored to your specific needs.
If I have an existing system, can any of the components be reused?
The reusability of components varies for each system. Your contractor will conduct a thorough inspection of your electrical system, ductwork, and other components before providing a detailed assessment of what needs replacement and what can be retained.
How complicated is a new system installation?
The complexity of installation depends on your home's structure and the chosen system. While air conditioners and gas furnaces have different components, proper ductwork sizing and zoning are crucial for optimal system performance. Your contractor can evaluate your current setup and explain the installation process.
What does the air handler do for my system?
An air handler is responsible for circulating conditioned air throughout your home. It can be combined with various accessories to filter, humidify, or dehumidify the air as needed, enhancing your overall indoor comfort.
What can I do to improve indoor air quality?
Indoor air can be significantly more polluted than outdoor air, sometimes by a factor of 5 to 100. To enhance your indoor air quality, consider adding humidifiers, dehumidifiers, ventilation systems, UV lights, and advanced air filtration technologies to your HVAC system.
When should I consider replacing my existing HVAC system instead of repairing it?
Consider replacing your current HVAC system if repair costs reach 30% of the price of a new system, or if your utility bills have increased by 50% due to inefficiency of the old system.
