  Black Gold replaced the bike path on our street, and managed to park over half of the vehicles and trailers in such a way as to unnecessarily obstruct the residential driveways. When asked if they could use the spaces between the driveways, they responded that we should drive on the lawns and shoulders to get around their vehicles. They also drove their tracked road mill over all of the concrete driveway aproaches without any sacraficial wood 4x6 boards and plywood sheets, and consequently broke or cracked every single one of them. This was 100% unnecessary damage and complete lack of care of the operators, leaving many angry and upset neighbors along our street. We were advised to forward our complaints to Township and the engineering firm that hired Black Gold, but this should never have happened in the first place with properly trained and properly equipped crews. Also, the new bike path is not properly crowned or tapered to allow drainage of rainwater or melting snow in many areas. This is essential for pedestrian safety in the spring and fall when thawing & freezing cycles occur, plus it shortens the longevity of the asphalt surface. We only had a couple of small problem areas previously, and now we have many and larger pooling areas on the new bike path from Black Gold. The problem is amplified in some spots by excessive aggregate on the edges, rather than taking the time to apply proper amounts. We were better off and safer with the old bike path than the new one installed by Black Gold.

  Driver's are awful. Cuts across 3 lanes of traffic just about to out 4 cars truck 163.

  One of their drivers tried to run me off the road doing 55 mph. I tried to pass 3 times before he quit playing games.

  Their crews aren't just bad with traffic management, they engage the drivers and are outright disrespectful. I observed this while they were doing road work in Wayland on Division right as it curves into the city center. The flagger looked raggedy and his attitude matched his looks. He intentionally held back traffic to spite the lead drivers who were frustrated at his incompetence. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
