I called Bonsby on Monday night around 6:00 pm. My HVAC had stopped working and I had called 8 other places, most of which didn’t even pick up. Leigh answered the phone and immediately got to work trying to get me a tech who could come out. Within an hour and a half, John arrived. He was professional and kind, and he had the problem solved in less than an hour. He was upfront about the cost, and was clear about what my system would need in the future, but didn’t try to upsell me or pressure me. He took pictures, explained everything, and sent me the information immediately. I’m going to be a Bonsby customer for life now!!

I was warned about Bonsby. Multiple people told me they used to be great but had gone downhill—more sales than service, more padding than planning. I didn’t listen. I should have.
I came to them with clear specs: a zoned ductless or ducted system for a historic DC rowhouse. I got was a $57,000 quote padded with equipment priced 40–60% over what I could find on google. But its gets better.
When I pushed back, they sent a revised quote that jacked up the line items THEN applied a 10% discount. I don't know why they bothered - total shell game.
These weren’t misunderstandings. This is how they operate. I know I'm one real person in a see of fake reviews, but I could have fallen for this if I didn't have good neighbors and friends to tell me what they were up to. We are a young married couple and are new to this. I guess he saw that and thought he could get a payday. It's depressing and brings down the whole industry.
