My old AC/heat pump system stopped working at the worst possible time, during a cold snap. I called Sila for service and Zane, who I assumed was a technician, but then found out later that he's a salesman, came out to look at the system and told me I needed a whole new system - no surprise, it was very old. I opted for the $23,000 system (the cheapest one) and was put on the schedule for installation. There were some issues (electrical, beyond Sila's control) so they had to come back multiple times. The guys that installed the system were very good - but the lack of communication is not only stunning, it's inconvenient. I can't count how many times I told the office, Zane, the technicians, anybody that would listen, that I had to schedule roof access with the Building Manager (I own a condo with the heat pump on the roof) who also had to notify the City of Medford. The guys would just show up, or not show up when I was told someone was coming, or, the most aggravating - they would show up and ask me what they were there to do. Very aggravating and inconvenient. I had to keep working from home, only to have them not show up. I don't want the canned "Sila is dedicated to excellence, please reach out to our team, blah, blah blah". I am just giving my honest review so that others are aware when making the choice of who to use for a rather large purchase.

Sila did a terrible job. Very little attention to detail, they didn't clean up construction scraps, and was really hard to get a hold of, which was extra frustrating because were sold on "round the clock support". What a joke. Hired them for a big electrical job worth 9k, and when we expressed we were unhappy with the work, they took multiple days to get back to us after we called multiple times, and then were unable to fix the issues they created. We'll never be using them again, even for small jobs. They screwed us over, and took advantage of us being new homeowners, and I urge people who need a big job done to look elsewhere. Price seemed reasonable, but paying them has been the biggest regret of any work we've had done at the house by far.
The work was done back in August and and I'm not really a negative review person, but now we're having more problems with the work so I feel I just have to get this out there.
How do new furnace/ac system put in. The foreman was very informative. Jorge the installer was very friendly, courteous, professional and helpful in every step of the way. From the start of the project all the way to the cleanup.
I was 100% satisfied with the work. The disposal of the old furnace to the cleanup of the area. I would definitely recommend to others. I had looked around at a couple other companies, but Sila what's the one that not only had the best price, but also had the quickest install time. They gave me options, and everyone I have dealt with at this company from start to the end of the install. We're all professional, courteous and helpful. I will be definitely using them again. For any repairs that I need..

I want to be very clear about what happened here, because other homeowners deserve the truth.
The technician, Mike, told us we needed a brand-new furnace and presented it as urgent and unavoidable. He used fear-based language, vague explanations, and constant pressure to push us toward an extremely expensive replacement. At no point did his reasoning feel transparent or consistent — it felt designed to scare us into saying yes.
We have young children in our home, so when someone starts talking about safety risks and “serious issues,” we listen. That is exactly what made this experience so disturbing.
We immediately sought a second opinion from a qualified professional. The reality?
We did NOT need a new furnace.
The actual issue was a few PVC pipes that needed to be replaced — a straightforward, far less expensive fix.
Being told to replace an entire furnace when the real solution is basic pipe work is not an honest mistake. It’s either gross incompetence or a deliberate attempt to upsell homeowners using fear.
Had we trusted Mike, we would have spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily.
If Mike represents how this company diagnoses systems, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing anything. What we experienced was not trustworthy service — it felt like an attempt to take advantage of homeowners who were simply trying to keep their family safe.

Very efficient and friendly service from expert plumber Adam. He explained the process as he worked and answered our questions. He made suggestions and recommended products that would help us in the future. He rescued us on Christmas Eve and fixed our leaks. The price for the service was quite high considering the retail cost of the parts, but it was reasonable under the circumstances. Like many homeowners I have some plumbing knowledge and want to fix problems myself if I can. I could easily change a cartridge if everything went smoothly but old leaking valves can be tough to replace and require the special tool to extract the old parts, so when the fixture is shooting water from the handle on Christmas Eve might not be the best time for amateur plumbing. Thank you Adam. Good service from Sila ensured a smooth experience. Thank you.
