Water heater flame out and it does not lit with ignition spark. Technician came out said he may need to change the part and quoted me $285 and started to turn sub knobs for a minute and flame backed on. I asked some discount since he did not change the part. All he did was turning some knobs and press some switches. But he demanded I still have to pay $285 This company charges $75 for the trip. So, his labor rate is over $200 for 30 minutes. I don't recommend this company.

I had Freddi at my home Dec. 30 for a sewer drain pipe cleaned out. My wife was home that day, and he told her he was going rod out the pipe. It costed us $479.00. Later that day, I had just gotten home from work and I spoke with Jason Ventura. He told me the pipe was cleaned & rodded and we spoke about the future repair, which would be replacing a 6-10 foot section of clay pipe. Jason quoted me &7,700. On Jan. 2, 2026, I wanted a second opinion, so I had another contractor over to give me another estimate. They informed me that the drain pipe was not rodded like we were informed. This 2nd contractor told me that Blanton had only spear-headed the pipe, and not rodded like Freddi said he did. So needless to say, I will not be continuing with Blanton for this repair. Just from one experience, I get the impression that this tech or maybe the company charges for work they do not do. I would not recommend this company for your future repairs.

The guys were great. They were efficient, courteous and always willing to answer my questions. To me this was a big job but Duane Blanton Plumbing had the guys here and when needed jason came back multiple times with the camera and once everything was located and apart the guys for rooting ? the pipe to make sure all was well came and Jason looked again and then Alfredo and his partner fixed it. 830am to like 330 with cutting the floor arranging everyone to come do their part then having the sub floor back in and cleaned up. Couldn't ask for more Thank you.

BEWARE OF DUANE BLANTON’S!! I called to have a kitchen faucet and garbage disposal installed, both items I provided. The faucet was a different brand but had the same type of mount as the one being replaced. The garbage disposal was the exact same model (warranty replacement). Obviously no parts needed for either job. Duane Blanton’s plumber “Johnny F” hadn’t provided a price or contract but turned off the water and breaker. He then gave my wife varying prices - the one for the faucet and disposal install only, $1,440, and that was with a 10% discount. The other prices were $2,074, that included new valves, and $2,163, that included drain rodding. Neither of these were needed. Assuming four hours of labor (which I’m sure is high for an experienced plumber), that’s $360/hour, $518.50/hour, or $540.75/hour. None of these were in a line item format, just a total price and payment plan. We refused to pay the $79 call-out fee with this slap in the face. He then called me back after he left and miraculously the price was now $1000 for the install only. He graciously waived the $79 call-out fee. So, was this a “see how much I can take advantage of an unsuspecting woman” business practice? Or, are they actually that unethical? I get that good plumbers come with a cost, but not that much! Don’t trust the Google ratings, I’m sure they are manipulated. The Yelp ratings tell a different story.

Like many other companies, including my own dentist office, they will book as many appointments as possible, and then call off last-minute whichever ones they don't get to. Their reason is "there were emergencies, and we had people call off" every single time. It's probably true, but that's definitely indicative of a problem. It doesn't matter what time of year it is. Whether it's flooding season or ice season or the middle of the summer when everyone's AC is breaking, I'm told the tech can't make it because there were emergencies and people called off, as if that is anything new or special, as if it's some surprising and rare thing. But at this point I have started booking appointments with MULTIPLE plumbers for the SAME DAY to save myself from this risk. I don't know what else to do. Otherwise it's a gamble. Companies like this have got to start extending credits to clients they cancel on. And it doesn't even have to be every single time. When do you think I should start billing them for the work *I* have missed because I took off to wait for someone who isn't going to show? How many times do I have to rearrange meetings and postpone work projects to end up with nothing? I am not blaming Duane Blanton for the shortcomings of other companies, but their shortcomings match those of other companies, giving me the impression this is a problem with a common business model and set of processes and policies. These companies are optimized entirely for themselves, while the customers are just numbers at the end of the day. They pretend to care, but if they really did, they'd have more systems in place to prevent this. It's one thing to be too busy and unavailable to book someone! But it's another to repeatedly book appointments you can't keep, leaving customers in difficult situations over and over again where they could've just secured someone else. If it's so busy this time of year, and there are so many emergencies with frozen pipes and flooding basements, then UNDERSTAND THAT, and book accordingly.
