They did a great job. Were easy to communicate with. Found brick to match. Put up large amount of scaffolding and got the chimney rebuilt in a timely fashion. They cleaned up everything on deck and patio all while dodging tree trimming going on at the same time. Chimney looks great.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pat Jaranson Masonry Inc.

What is tuckpointing?

Tuckpointing is a masonry maintenance technique that involves replacing deteriorated mortar in the joints of brick or stone walls with fresh mortar. This process enhances both the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of the wall.

Why do I need chimney repair or tuckpointing?

Chimney repair or tuckpointing is necessary because moisture can penetrate cracks in the chimney cap, leading to deterioration of mortar joints and bricks. This deterioration, exacerbated by freeze-thaw cycles, can result in unsafe chimneys, falling bricks, interior water damage, and other structural issues. Timely repair or tuckpointing can prevent these problems and extend your chimney's lifespan.
