  I highly recommend Ted watkins for your home repairs! He was honest kind and outgoing. He painted some interior walls for us and was very good and quick. He cleans up very well after his work and leaves the place looking nice and the work was done correctly! He also did some outdoor maintenance that was incredible and looked perfect. Thank you Ted!

  Today, Ted installed a doggie door at my house in Rexburg. He explained the process thoroughly, was easy to work with, and his work was professionally done. My doggie door looks fantastic. I will continue to use Ace handyman services, especially Ted.

  Formal Complaint / Review I am writing this review to document an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Ace Handyman Services. I hired this company to complete several repairs based on findings from a home inspection for a newly purchased house. I was initially quoted $1,500, a price I agreed to under the assumption that the work would be done correctly and professionally. However, by the end of the job, the final bill was nearly $3,000—almost double the original quote. At no point during the project was I given clear updates about the cost increase. The only mention came near the end, when they told me the price was “getting a little above the quote,” and said they would reduce the hourly rate to keep the cost close to $1,500. Despite this assurance, no actual pricing updates were provided, and the final amount was a complete shock. After the work was completed, I had a follow-up inspection (which was part of my original home inspection package), and every single item worked on by this company was unsatisfactory—or in worse condition than before they touched it. A different company handled other repairs during the same period, and their work passed inspection without issue. The inspector did not know which company did which repairs, so there was no bias in the assessment. When I contacted the owner to address these concerns, I was met with condescension and dismissiveness. Rather than listening, he belittled my concerns and attempted to gaslight the situation by announcing that he has “structural engineers on speed dial” and “normally works on million-dollar houses,” as if that somehow excused the poor workmanship or the massive price increase. I was left feeling as though my home—and my business—were not valued simply because it wasn’t an expensive enough project. To make matters worse, the company had initially almost double-charged me, and although the owner eventually offered a $1,000 refund, this still would have left me paying a little over the original quoted price for work that was never actually fixed. At this point, I have no confidence in the quality, honesty, or professionalism of this company. I am pursuing reimbursement through my bank for fraudulent charges, as none of the issues I paid for were resolved, and the final cost was misrepresented throughout the process. I strongly advise others to avoid this company. The lack of communication, poor workmanship, inflated pricing, and unprofessional behavior from the owner have made this a frustrating and overwhelming customer service experiences. ADDED INFORMATION: Reached out to the suggested email per reply to my comment and got no response. The new company I contracted to fix Ace's issues, report that they have had to follow up after Ace a few times now. Wish I had known in advance.
