I can’t say enough good things about Idaho Curbing & Landscape! The owners, John and Kay Lee Smith, along with their amazing crew, just completed a patio extension for us along with some landscaping upgrades and curbing, and we couldn’t be happier.
From the very beginning, they were wonderful to work with—listening to our ideas, being flexible with our requests, and making sure we were completely happy with the outcome. Their team was so friendly, hardworking, and respectful, and they did such an incredible job bringing our vision to life.
If you’re looking for a company that truly cares about their customers and takes pride in their work, I would wholeheartedly recommend Idaho Curbing & Landscape. We are beyond thrilled with our new outdoor space!

We used Idaho Curbing & Landscaping for an area that had become overrun with weeds and was too labor intensive to continue to weed. They cleaned out the area of the existing plants and mostly weeds, installed weed barrier, planted new plants, drip sprinklers and rock. It turned out beautifully and with any luck we can keep it maintained. What surprised me the most was that it was completed in one day. ICL was very easy to work with when I had some specific requests for plants. Kay Lee was willing to find what I needed and offered great advice for the area. We couldn't be happier, and I would definitely recommend this company for your landscape needs.
Frequently Asked Questions About Idaho Curbing & Landscaping
What styles of curbing do you offer?
Many curbing shapes and features are available to best compliment your landscaping, including: square, slant, mow edge, stamping, coloring, and our Smitty’s signature stone carved curbing made to look like natural stone.
Does curbing really reduce trimming and edging time?
It absolutely does! Installing curbing can reduce your time spent with the weed wacker by 60% or more.
How do I get an estimate?
Schedule your free estimate online. Select a time that works for you and we’ll see you soon!
How long do the services take?
Most curbing jobs can be completed in a ½ or full day. Most lighting installations are completed in 1-2 days. If you’re looking for a transformation with curbing and landscape work, we’ll develop a custom installation schedule together.
Do I need to be home for services?
You should be home for your estimate appointment. You’re welcome to be home or available by phone during your scheduled services. If you’re not available to be at the home, we’ll communicate our access needs in advance.
Is there anything I need to do before you arrive?
Just make sure the sprinklers are turned off the day of your install appointment.
Is there anything I need to do after work is done?
We’ll take care of site cleanup!
After curbing or concrete installs, keep pets and kids away and leave sprinklers off for 24 hours. Wait 3-4 days to do lawn maintenance.
How long will the curbing take to dry?
Your curbing will set in 24-48 hours, but it can take up to a week for curbing to cure completely.
Will curbing crack?
With proper care, your curbing will last for many years. All concrete can crack over time, which is why we place control joints throughout the curbing. Control joints are intended to help control where cracking may occur amidst weather and ground changes.
Tree roots have caused significant cracks in my old curbing. What should I do?
We suggest replacing the curb. Tree roots cause the most noticeable damage to curbing. This is why we create tree rings with at least a 6 ft diameter, when possible.
Will curbing fade?
Natural concrete will fade minimally. Colored concrete has more noticeable fading over time, but will last for many years with proper care. We recommend re-sealing colored curbing every 2 years.
How can I best care for curbing?
Avoid taking heavy machinery over the curb.
Avoid using salts or other deicing chemicals on the curb.
Re-seal colored curbing at every 2 years.
