Kyle came to repair a piece of siding. He nailed in a couple of additional spots while he was here and cleaned up the area afterward.

Noel was great to work with. Very knowledgeable and always responsive, straight forward, and honest. The roofing crew was very efficient and knocked out the project quickly. Once completed, Noel was more than willing to walk the roof with me and address the few outstanding concerns I had. I appreciate the way they do business: no nonsense, transparent & competitive pricing, and made sure the job got done right (no pun intended).

A big shout out to Omar and his roofing team. They were here when they said they would be and after prepping the area they started on the roof on the house and garage right away. Also, Charlie the salesperson deserves a shout out also. He went above and beyond to fix the bird box issues I was having. He came out yesterday 10-29-25 and repaired the area after another crew member told me he couldn't fix it.
The roofing team did a great job of cleaning up the yard and garage area i found 0 nails. I would not hesitate to contact them again for any work I'd like done...Lori Forkner

When we purchased our home, Right Roofing and Siding did a phenomenal job with replacing our roof, siding, gutters and helped fix our chimney problems. They worked well with our other contractor who was adding on to our home. Clean up was immaculate and the job went smoothly. It’s been over two years and we’ve had zero issues. We did have them out last year to add gutter guards to our gutters and now fall clean up is easier too!!
Frequently Asked Questions About Right Roofing & Siding
How long does it take to get a new roof put on my house?
Right Roofing & Siding finishes most residential roofs in less than one day, including tear offs. Some larger homes can take 2 days. Our roofing crews are extremely efficient, but never sacrifices quality. Upon receiving your accurate quotes, we will be happy to give you a more definitive answer on how long it will take to tear off and replace your roof.
Should I have my current shingles torn off or just shingled over?
Right Roofing & Siding of Urbandale, IA always recommends doing a complete tear off and re-roofing the entire roof as we have discovered in our 25 years that it allows us to properly examine the roof to find out what it’s true condition is under the current shingles and also to determine the correct venting to increase the life of the shingles.
What are the advantages of complete roof tear-off?
a. All New Material – A complete tear-off allows us to replace deteriorating decking and underlayment; find and replace any leaks to protect your home from mold and rot
b. Greater Durability & Last Longer – A roof made of all new materials will last longer, typically at least 10 additional years
What are signs of needing a roof replaced?
• Bucking and curling shingles
• Excessive Fragments of Granules in the Gutters
• Missing shingles
• Loose or Dislodged shingles
• Mold in the attic
• Leaks or water infiltration into your home
• Roof just looks bad
My roof is only about 5 years old and looks aged, shingles are curling. Why?
The number one reason for shingles curling is poor to no ventilation and/or inadequate insulation in your roof system. If the venting and insulation is not done properly, it can greatly diminish the life of the shingles. Right Roofing and Siding, located in Urbandale, IA has been solving these problems for over 25 years by accurately installing the correct number of vents & types of vents, and assessing the proper insulation to increase the life of your roof.
How long will a new roof typically last?
The lifespan of a new roof will depend on the quality of the shingles installed. The expected lifespan of a quality, properly installed roof is between 25-40 years.
Do I get to pick out the shingle color?
Yes. We can give you recommendations, but ultimately, you can choose the shingle color. If you have a Homeowners Association you might have to get the color of the new roof approved by the Homeowners Association.
How much does a new roof cost?
Several factors go into determining the cost of your new roof. They include the quality and professionalism of your roofing contractor; the brand, type and grade of roofing shingle you select; the size of your roof and the shape and slope of your roofline. Don't choose a roofing contractor on cost alone. Price is a factor, but not the only factor you should consider. Quality roofing material and contractor workmanship have value. Hiring the cheapest roofing contractor could cost more in the long run when you consider the cost to repair sub-par roofing and the damage it causes. Right Roofing & Siding of Urbandale, IA looks at the roof and all the components surrounding the roof to provide the highest quality installation and long term results of your roof. Right Roofing & Siding quotes are accurate.
How much will a shingle color affect my energy bills?
Shingle color in Iowa has very little affect on energy bills. Furnaces and heaters are used at least 5 months out of the year. The light colored or reflective roof can provide some help in the warmer months, but it will hurt in the colder months. Most importantly, Right Roofing & Siding makes sure that your roof has the proper ventilation and insulation.
Do I need to be home when my home is being re-roofed?
No, you don't have to be home while we're working on your roof, but we do ask that you remain available by phone in case any questions arise.
I have a roof leak. Do I need a roof repair or complete new roof?
A leaking roof is not only an inconvenience, it can also cause significant damage to the structure and interior of your home. This does not necessarily mean you will need the entire roof replaced. Right Roofing & Siding will come out and check the roof, providing you with honest, upfront advice and accurate quote.
How long does it take Right Roofing & Siding to install a new roof?
Most residential roofs are completed in less than one day, including tear offs. Larger homes may take up to two days. The exact time will be provided with your accurate quote.
Is it better to tear off existing shingles before installing a new roof?
Right Roofing & Siding recommends a complete tear-off to properly assess the roof's condition and ensure correct venting, which extends shingle life.
What benefits does a full roof tear-off provide?
A full tear-off replaces deteriorating decking and underlayment, fixes leaks to prevent mold and rot, and results in greater durability, extending roof life typically by at least 10 years.
What signs indicate I need a roof replacement?
Signs include bucking and curling shingles, missing or loose shingles, excessive granules in gutters, attic mold, leaks, or an overall poor roof appearance.
Why are my shingles curling after only 5 years?
Poor or no ventilation and inadequate insulation can cause shingles to curl prematurely. Proper venting and insulation installation is essential to extend roof life.
How long will a new roof typically last?
A quality, properly installed roof can last between 25 to 40 years, depending on the shingles used.
Can I choose the shingle color for my roof?
Yes, you can select your preferred shingle color. However, if you belong to a Homeowners Association, you may need their approval for the color.
What factors influence the cost of a new roof installation?
Costs depend on the contractor’s quality, roofing materials chosen, roof size, shape, and slope. Choosing based on price alone isn’t advised; quality workmanship ensures long-term value.
