Very professional and efficient! We had one side of the yard fenced and a 5 foot gate added. It only took them about 2 hours to install. I will definitely use them in the future.

After one miscommunication the job was completed promptly, and the gates look and work great. Unfortunately, they buried my ferns with the dirt they removed for the post holes. There was a wheelbarrow 6 feet away.

D&N has been great to work with. We originally contracted them to put a fence in and then after we paid the deposit we decided to move. They were willing to keep our deposit and use it on the new house or if we didn’t need a fence any longer they’d refund the deposit. We got all of our ducks in a row finally and they were able to come out and quickly install our black chain link fence. I was the only one home and I had to answer a few questions for them and they treated me like an equal and never talked down to me. We had some landscaping bricks that needed moved and after the fence was installed they placed the bricks back like they never had to move them in the first place. It’s been a great experience working with them.

I thought the installers did a good job, but I thought they could have used a little more cement and the estimater didn’t do a good job explaining to the installers what was needed. But overall I thought they did a good job

They did amazing! They came out for a quote quickly & installed it quickly. They helped me figure out exactly how I wanted it & it looks sooo good! I love looking at my fence everyday😄
Rough prices are usually no where near to what the price would actually be. Without seeing your yard and measuring it, it's hard to get close for your rough price. Your yard may be hilly, there may be concrete, etc. Not only that, but manufacturing prices are constantly changing for materials, and by the time you've received an official estimate from us, it could be completely different from what you were expecting. It's always best to request for estimates right away, instead of thinking about maybe doing it in the future. Even if you decide to wait after getting the estimate, by the time you are ready to proceed, we will already have your measurements and can just update your first bid.
When will you be able to install my fence?
This is almost impossible to answer because there is no way to tell how the weather will be in a few weeks or even months from now. Installations are all weather dependent.
What weather conditions will prevent you from installing my fence today, like we planned a week ago?
The most common weather issue we run into is rain. A light rain during summer/warm weather months is fine, but if it's a heavy rain, it can turn your yard muddy. If your yard is muddy, installing can risk your yard being torn up, due to needing to dig to put your posts in. We also won't install when it's colder out and there's a light rain. It'll be too cold for our installers, as well as icy roads may form, and we want our installers to be safe while they're with us. Once the ground freezes, we no longer install residential fences until it unfreezes.
How do I know you guys are a legit company?
We've been in business since 1945, which means we've been around for 75 years. We're a family run business and are usually the first choice of many. You could drive down the road and see our sign on multiple different fences. We're also licensed, bonded, and insured.
Why do you require a 50% downpayment? You said you aren't going to be able to get to my fence until next year.
The 50% downpayment will help us to be able to order your materials. We order those materials within a few days after receiving your downpayment. Please also keep in mind that 50% doesn't fully cover the cost of materials either. If we were to upfront the full cost of materials for every job, it would be a long time before we're paid for that job, especially after the Derecho, and it'll add up. This isn't possible. Not only that, but someone may change their mind on getting the job done, then want to cancel, after we already ordered the materials. If they do that, we don't get paid for the materials. If you're on the fence about paying a downpayment, we suggest that you wait until you're 100% sure you want to have us install your fence.
Why do you only allow 10 days for the price on your estimates? My insurance needs more time.
The manufacturing prices for materials are constantly changing, especially now. There seems to be a shortage, because prices are significantly higher compared to previous years. We only allow 10 days so that we can adjust our price to match whatever the material cost increase is, if needed, so that way we don't eat the costs and we still make a profit.
Do you have to come to my house to measure? Can't you just give an estimate over the phone? I measured it myself already.
Unfortunately, we do have to go out and measure your yard ourselves. Our experienced estimators know how to install a fence and they know what to look for in a yard. Sometimes you may want your fence to be in a certain area that just isn't possible. For example, the sidewalk. Per city ordinances, it needs to be a certain amount away. Not only that, but your yard may be hilly. Our estimators need to see how it is, so that we can order the correct materials for what needs done. Not only that, but sometimes people make mistakes. Your measurements may be wrong because you may have forgotten something.
Can I order materials from you?
Yes! We offer cash and carry services. If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, or you want to find out if we have something, give us a call and we can transfer you over to one of our material specialists.
Do you offer free estimates for fence installation?
Yes! All of our estimates are free.
Can I get a rough price for my fence over the phone?
It's difficult to provide an accurate rough price without seeing your yard and measuring it, as factors like yard terrain and material cost fluctuations affect pricing. We recommend requesting an estimate in person.
When can you install my fence?
Installation timing depends largely on the weather, so exact dates are difficult to predict.
What weather conditions might delay my fence installation?
Heavy rain can make yards muddy and unsafe for installation. Cold weather with rain or icy roads also prevents us from installing. Installation halts when the ground is frozen.
How can I be sure D&N Fence Co Inc is a legitimate company?
We've been serving since 1945 as a family-run business, are licensed, bonded, insured, and are a trusted choice with many fences displaying our sign.
Why is a 50% downpayment required even if installation is scheduled for next year?
The downpayment allows us to order materials promptly. Material costs are high and ordering in advance ensures availability and timely work. If unsure, we suggest waiting until you're fully ready to proceed.
Why do estimates only hold their price for 10 days?
Material prices fluctuate frequently, so we limit estimate pricing to 10 days to ensure cost accuracy and fairness.
Can I order fencing materials directly from you?
Yes, we offer cash and carry services. Contact us to speak with our material specialists if you are unsure about what you need.
