  It was finally time to reroof my house with new shingles. MRC Roofing provided me with a quote to install new rubberized asphalt shingles made by Malarkey. My current shingles didn’t have rubberized asphalt and so they were brittle and breaking off in the wind. I chose a line of shingles called Malarkey Highlander that had a light reflective quality. MRC started my roof on a Friday. They weren’t able to get the shingles delivered on time so they installed two layers of underlayment so that my house would be watertight over the weekend. The shingle supply house upgraded me to a heavier shingle (Malarkey Vista) for free. On Monday my roof was finished. I got a free 2nd layer of felt underlayment and a free shingle upgrade. MRC also provided a free solar attic fan as a promotional last month. Because MRC is a certified installer for Malarkey shingles, they were able to provide me with an extended warranty for only 10 cents a square foot, which covers labor (25 years) and material (50 years). The warranty is also transferable one time to a new owner. I highly recommend MRC Roofing if you are looking for a quality installation.

  Our roofs had some pesky water leaks that we decided to have fixed. MRC came highly recommended by three of our friends. The owner of MRC came to our house and then his estimator provided us with a very thorough reroofing proposal that included notes and photos of carpentry scopes in order to repair some dry rot and a deck that had to be removed and reinstalled for accessibility. MRC was backlogged with a lot of work at the time due to some recent heavy winds on the island, but they were able to squeeze our job in on shorter notice than expected. MRC installed temporary water proofing over our leak areas free of charge until they could schedule the project. It turns out our hot water solar panels were in the way and it was tough to find a hot water contractor on short notice. MRC was able to work around the hot water panels until a hot water contractor could be coordinated with. Our new Malarkey asphalt shingles are solar reflective along with the new silicone coating. We live next to the ocean so MRC only used stainless steel fasteners and aluminum flashings that are more corrosion resistant than our existing galvanized accessories that were rusting. MRC was able to complete most of the work in one week. We are very happy with the results, and you will be also if you call MRC for a free DETAILED quote.

  Heavy rain and strong winds created a leak at my rental property in Honolulu. My tenants weren’t too thrilled about it. I needed immediate service since I wasn’t able to diagnose the problem myself. The leak was coming in over my flat roof but it turns out that the water was coming in at the pitched shingle roof and flowing down hill and under the flat roofing material/system. MRC was able to determine this cause within their first inspection. They tarped my roof for free until they could schedule the reroofing project for a later date, which was a life saver because it kept raining daily. Then when the weather cleared up, they scheduled the job to reroof the shingle section of the house. This stopped the leak and now I have a warranty on my roof and I have happy tenants. I don’t live on island but the communication and pictures that MRC provided throughout the process made it feel as if I was there the whole time. MRC described the whole situation to me. They even threw a little extra silicone water proofing around the skylight curbs just in case. That’s what I call value added service. Don’t hesitate to call MRC Roofing if you have a roof issue.

  I had a leak in my roof under my hot water solar panel. MRC was able to coordinate with my solar contractor so that they could be there at the same time. MRC made sure that the penetrations into my metal roof were sealed properly once the solar was removed. MRC also coated my flat roof with silicone. The communication between MRC, the solar contractor and myself was very good, and the job was done in one day. I am a previous customer of MRC’s and I’m glad that I called them again. One solar contractor that I spoke with told me that the sections of metal roofing under my solar panel needed to be replaced. MRC told me that was incorrect and over kill for such a minor repair. With the money I saved on metal roof panel replacement I was able to put toward coating my flat roof with silicone. A lot of my neighbors have coated their roofs with silicone also instead of tearing off their existing roofs. The nice thing about silicone is that Hawaii’s algae can’t embed into it, which means it will be easy to keep clean in the future. If you’re looking for an honest roofing company. I highly recommend MRC.
