- CMCassidy MirandaAug 12, 20252.0We’ve lived here for about two years now in one of the single homes and we’re pretty disappointed. We bought a beacon model because we were ready to put roots down and we were tired of the renter nonsense. Only to find that although we pay exorbitant HOA fees, renters are still allowed in the community. The houses are pretty cheaply made with standard vinyl flooring and door knobs that fall off. They’re missing a lot of features such as no tub in the master bath, no fireplace, no attic, very little space between houses, etc. Even in one of the largest models, the downstairs is microscopic, with the kitchen and the living room being about the size of what one living room should be. It’s hard for two people to even stand in the kitchen and work side-by-side because of how close the island is to the counter. The community itself looks pretty enough, but there are no amenities that warrant the HOA fees. My sister lives in an older neighborhood that has a pool, tennis court, basketball court, Lots of things to do. All we have is the pool and it’s not even that big, it’s about the size of the pool and my parents yard. They put a standard sign up by the townhouses, but in the front of the neighborhood we can’t even get a nice sign like they have in other communities with fountains and plants and all that. There’s just a cardboard sign and once the house is sale, there will be nothing there to even tell you that this is a neighborhood. It’s way too expensive for the actual quality of the neighborhood and house experience. I think if you’re desperate to own a home, you might like it here, but if you have higher standards and want a house and community with some longevity, I would look elsewhere.
