Had a broken TorqueMaster spring on our door that was less than five years old. Called A1 after hours at roughly 6 PM on a Friday night. Dispatch sent out a tech set to arrive between 6-8pm. Ruben showed up within that a lot of timeframe to do the repair. He was the best person we could have gotten to help us. I would definitely ask for him if needing something done in the future. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in changing our spring system to torsion springs. The negative part of this review – the quote for replacing the spring system seemed very high. Depending on which spring you chose (based on usage and warranty), the price range quoted was $1600-$1900. This included travel charge, new shaft, springs, cables, drums, bearing plates installed. We also ended up with a “free” 1 year maintenance plan and surge protector on the garage motor. I see others claiming they got the same job done for half that price elsewhere. Definitely do your research on other companies.

Scheduled A1 to check out my garage door opener. The motor was 20+ years old and the other parts were original to the house that was built in 1988. Jacob did a 29 point inspection and created 2 quotes. Both were reasonable and within a few hours we had a new motor and associated hardware, bearings, etc... Jacob was great, personable and professional. There was also no pressure, he would have left with just the payment for the inspection. Would definitely recommend A1.

You know how a company will give you a service window from X:00-Y:00 and then show up at Z:59? Yea, that didn't happen here. John showed up during the expected window (at the beginning of it, actually) with a smile on his face and light in his eyes. He was kind, funny, and did a great job servicing our garage doors. He also let me know what other things needed to be fixed (ASAP but later) and offered the Worry Free Club which would give us a free tuneup later and save us some dollars on the additional work that needs to be done. Very pleased with this morning's service. Thanks John!

I’ve never been so humiliated and disrespected like this guy treated me. From a $29 tune up i was going to get he charged me $178 telling me me he had to reprogram my whole system. He dropped one of my sensors from the door that i knew wouldn’t work anymore after the drop than he replaced it with an old one he had in his van. i never told him i was complaining all i said was can’t you give me a break all you did was press a reset button on my garage door motor and the door started working normal again he never tuned up the system nor the door and told me I’d rather be at home with my family than here. OK I don’t wanna hear your junk If you could’ve fixed it, you shouldn’t call me then that’s why I’m an expert. I had to call the company and report him thank God for Tabatha. I’m so grateful for her. that she’s making a complete report is she gonna get back with me on Monday and she even from the $178 that I paid she deducted $78 because he didn’t even do part of the job so I’m very thankful for her for her kindness for consideration for her support but the technician that came I would either put him through more training or I would fire him because he has no customer service skills he’s rude, arrogant and I don’t ever want him coming to my home again. I want to thank your company for having someone like Tabitha, I have complete, respect for her, And whatever positive I may say about her, falls short because there’s not enough I can say about her because she is amazing Tabatha, you’re the kind of person that leaves a customer satisfied and you make sure that you go out of your ways to make it happen because I was very upset and you know today but I dealt with you and as soon as we finished, I was able to Tell my family and wishing you all a merry Christmas thank you for having someone like Tabatha in your company I gave her a five stars, but the technician doesn’t even get a star from me not even one which is the worst. The technician overpriced me took pride in doing so, smirked, and tried to ridicule me. I didn’t appreciate that at all.

This is one of the shadiest companies I have ever dealt with. They originally came out to my home because my garage door wasn’t operating as well as it usually does. The first tech told me the issue and gave me 6 different confusing options to choose from in terms of a fix. I don’t have a PhD in garage doors so after asking him repeatedly he told me what he’d recommend to get the job done. Fast forward 2 weeks and the garage was acting up again - the new tech tells me what the previous guy did was a “bandaid” (he never mentioned that) and the entire system was actually bad and I’d be better off replacing my entire garage door system for over 5k! Suffice to say I called another company after already shelling out $500 to these thieves and found out all I needed was a maintenance to my Wayne Dalton system and everything worked perfectly. A1 isn’t authorized to work on these so rather than being upfront and honest they repeated lied to me and still took $500 of my money. The other company was able to run maintained on the system for $150 and everything is working prefectly. Avoid these scam artists at all costs.
