I can't say enough about Air Medics. From the person on the phone who scheduled my appointment to the technician who came out, they were polite, friendly and very professional. My AC went out this past weekend and all Floridians know how catastrophic that is. I called Air Medics and they were here when they said they would be here. They are honest and their concern for my welfare was so reassuring. I would recommend AirMedics to anyone who needs A/C service, repair or replacement.

Had Air Medics out to check the A/C because we recently purchased our home and did not know when the last service was done. Luis arrived on time and was very courteous. He said the unit needed several repairs. UV lights, new coil and maybe a new compressor. Also said the unit was low on freon(?). He gave me an estimate for all repairs totaling $7200.00. Glad I didn't agree to it. I will have the repairs done by another company with higher review ratings for $430.00. I definitely will not be calling Air Medics again

Frequently Asked Questions About Air Medics A/C and Heating, Inc.
Is it recommended to set up a service contract or preventative maintenance plan with my AC contractor?
Yes, establishing a service contract or preventative maintenance plan is highly recommended. These agreements offer numerous advantages, including scheduled maintenance to prevent unexpected breakdowns, prolonged equipment lifespan, enhanced energy efficiency, priority service scheduling, potential discounts on repairs, and peace of mind knowing your system is regularly inspected by professionals. Regular maintenance helps ensure your air conditioning system operates at peak performance, potentially reducing energy costs and minimizing the risk of costly repairs.
Why is it better to use a licensed AC contractor instead of my neighbor's brother-in-law?
Opting for a licensed AC contractor from a reputable HVAC company is crucial for several reasons. Licensed professionals have undergone extensive training and certification, ensuring they meet industry standards. They adhere to local and national building codes, carry proper insurance for liability protection, and use approved parts that maintain warranty validity. Licensed contractors also have access to high-quality equipment and parts, which can improve system efficiency and longevity. Choosing a licensed expert helps avoid costly mistakes and potential safety hazards associated with unlicensed work. For reliable AC services, we encourage you to contact our team at Air Medics A/C and Heating, Inc.
How long do AC systems last in Florida?
In Florida's challenging climate, air conditioning systems typically last between 8 to 12 years. The intense heat, high humidity, and constant operation during summer months accelerate wear and tear on AC units. Coastal areas face additional challenges due to salt air corrosion. While industry standards suggest replacing units every 10 to 15 years, Florida's unique conditions often necessitate earlier replacement. Regular maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and professional tune-ups, is essential for maximizing your system's lifespan and efficiency. When you require AC repair services in the local area, our team is ready to assist you.
What should I do in an electrical emergency?
In the event of an electrical emergency related to your air conditioning system or home wiring, safety is paramount. First, if safe to do so, turn off power to the affected system at the breaker panel. Avoid touching exposed wires or attempting repairs yourself. For electrical fires or injuries, immediately contact emergency services. During power outages or instances of downed lines, notify your local utility company. Use a class C fire extinguisher for electrical fires, never water. Once immediate dangers are addressed, contact a licensed electrician or our HVAC specialists to inspect your system and ensure its safe operation before use.
Why is my HVAC system not heating or cooling properly?
Several factors can contribute to inadequate heating or cooling from your HVAC system. Common issues include clogged air filters, thermostat malfunctions, obstructed vents or ductwork, insufficient refrigerant levels (for cooling), or faulty components such as the blower motor or compressor. To accurately diagnose and resolve the problem, it's advisable to have a qualified technician perform a thorough inspection of your system.
How do I know what size HVAC system I need?
Determining the appropriate HVAC system size requires a professional Manual J load calculation. This assessment takes into account various factors including your home's square footage, insulation quality, window placement, and local climate conditions. Proper sizing is crucial, as an oversized or undersized system can lead to inefficient operation and reduced comfort levels in your home.
How does my HVAC system affect indoor air quality?
Your HVAC system plays a significant role in indoor air quality as it circulates air throughout your home. Dirty filters, ducts, or coils can distribute dust, allergens, and mold spores, potentially compromising air quality. To enhance indoor air quality, consider installing air purifiers, UV light systems, or high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters. These additions can help remove contaminants and improve the overall air quality in your living spaces.
How often should I service my HVAC system?
Industry experts recommend servicing your HVAC system biannually. Schedule a maintenance visit in spring to prepare for the cooling season and another in fall for the heating season. Regular professional maintenance helps extend your system's operational life, improves energy efficiency, and can prevent costly breakdowns.
Why is my AC leaking water?
Water leakage from an AC unit can stem from various issues, making it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause without professional inspection. Potential reasons include a clogged condensate drain line or a defective drain pan. Given the complexity of diagnosing this problem, we strongly advise contacting our team promptly for a thorough assessment and appropriate solution.
How often should I change my air filters?
We advise changing your air filters at minimum once per month. However, more frequent changes may be necessary depending on your system's usage and environmental factors. Regular filter replacement is crucial for maintaining optimal system performance and indoor air quality.
