  Made the appointment in the morning. Darren came in the afternoon; inspected my door, opener, and hardware; explained what had gone wrong & recommended what to replace, and why; gave me a quote that he stood by; and then he did a tremendous amount of high-quality work in less than two hours! My son literally hugged me when he heard how quiet the new opener is — his bedroom is right over the garage & he would get woken up every time someone came home. Darren was friendly, professional, and competent. 10/10, would recommend to anyone.

  Tanner was prompt, very careful, respectful, knowledgeable and efficient. He gave a good honest analysis of the condition of my older garage door, but didn’t oversell expensive replacements or fixes for now, and I appreciate that. I’m sure we’ll reassess that with Don’s in the future.

  STAY AWAY! My springs broke and I had them come over for an estimate and all I saw during the visit were red flags. I live in affordable housing, so I mentioned that affordability was a priority for me. During the visit, the tech took a quick look at the door to determine that the springs needed replacement. First estimate he gave me was of $2,300 or $2,100. Only once I told him that I would not accept the offer, he told me that upon checking "they JUST received a new shipment of parts with more options" (lucky me, huh?). Now the cheapest option was around $1,300. I still declined this option. Once I declined, the seller had some paperwork for me to sign. He told me that the first document was just to legally authorize him to go into my house to diagnose the door (which already happened). When I actually read the document, it said that I was agreeing to the quote and committed to paying for a repair. When I told this to the seller, he told me that the document actually said that IF I agreed to the quote, then I would be committing to the payment (which was different from the first time). I read the document once more, and the wording said that I was AGREEING AND COMITTING to payment, so I refused to sign. The seller apologized and moved on, which looked very sketchy. After paying for the "dispatch fee" of $64.40, I asked if he had any suggestions on how to manually open the garage door to at least get the car out while I figured out a fix. No help received. After posting in my neighborhood Facebook group, everyone agreed that these quotes were outrageous and recommended a local business. They came to my house the next morning, got my car outside of the garage, and then fixed the issue for $525. All I got from this company was that they were trying at all cost to get to pay you the highest price possible, and not someone that was working to find the best solution for a customer.

  Tyler was so amazing to talk to and walked me through everything I needed to know. He gets a 5 star. They have some great technicians. The only reason for the 4 star is the price to install the key pad is ridiculous and they should let you know when you make the appointment about the trip charge. It cost more to install the keypad than the keypad itself. Yes I know I should have installed myself, but wanted to make sure things were setup right. Don's is always over priced and this will be the last time I use them once I have someone come out to check the security screw is in correctly.

  Technician Ben Race came out to help my fix my broken garage door and I could not have had a better experience. He was professional, showed up within the designated window, and did the work quickly and with great expertise. I would recommend Ben and Don's Garage Door Repair to anyone!
