- DWDonna WanserMay 14, 20251.0Had a situation where the heater wasn't turning on, plumber/heater guy came and never checked filter and just said you need a roofer to replace the vent and left $185 .....I called another plumber, they came changed the filter, did a whole system check and replaced the roof cap for $350....and got the system running. I feel that the $185 for someone who obviously didn't either know how to fix or didn't want to fix seems a bit steep.
