Joe is the Man that came to my place to do the Drain cleaning. He was on time and did a great job. He accommodated me on removing the trap to make sure it was completely clear. The clearing took longer than I would have expected and that is because the clog was in the main line, as Joe told me, that made sense because it took a while for the water to start lowering, in fact I started getting nervous because nothing was happening and then it suddenly started to drain, I began to think it was a much bigger problem and thankfully it was not. I guess the HOA will be paying the bill given the blockage was in the main line.
Joe was on time, Polite, Friendly, and professional and very sweet and Kind, Joe is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I think Pete's Plumbing is very lucky to have Joe working with them. Thank you Pete's Plumbing and Joe !

Great Service. Really helps when the company you are using is knowedgeable about your building. Ron was awesome. Ron listened to what the issues were and explained the best course of action. He let me know what he was doing at all times, and made sure everything was working. Also cleaned up after himself. Pete's Plumbing is my plumber moving forward in Long Beach.

I’m honestly shocked by Pete’s Plumbing’s high Google rating. Based on my experience, I can’t understand how it’s so positive, unless negative reviews are being removed.
I live in a condominium, and Pete’s Plumbing has been called out at least four separate times to address the same leak. Despite repeated visits and thousands of dollars in charges, the issue remains unresolved. Each time they come out, we’re billed again, yet the leak persists.
They have cut through multiple walls in neighboring units and are now suggesting cutting through as many as six units to resolve what they claim is a single-source leak. This level of disruption, combined with their inability to identify or fix the problem after so many visits, makes me question their competence and integrity.
It’s hard not to feel that this company treats HOA funds like free money, sending invoices without accountability. On one occasion, they even billed for a visit where they never showed up or performed any work. After talking with neighbors, it seems this isn’t an isolated incident.
If you’re a single homeowner, you may have a different experience. But if you’re part of a condominium or HOA, I strongly urge you to think twice before hiring Pete’s Plumbing. From my experience, they’ve been unprofessional, ineffective, and costly with no resolution to show for it.
Don't believe me... read all their bad reviews. They are consistent.
Can I increase the water pressure in my bathroom faucet?
Yes, you can improve your bathroom faucet's water pressure. First, check if the emergency shutoff valve under the sink is fully open. Next, examine the rubber washers and seals for wear, as they can affect pressure. Also, consider the possibility of calcium and lime buildup, which can reduce water flow. These simple checks can often resolve low pressure issues.
Can I replace my two-handled faucet with a single-handle faucet?
In most cases, yes. Plumbing industry standards typically ensure that faucet dimensions and sink openings are compatible. However, it's always wise to measure your sink opening before purchasing new fixtures, as there may be occasional exceptions to standard sizes.
How can I prevent clogged drains?
To prevent clogged drains, avoid pouring fats or cooking oils down the kitchen sink, as they can solidify in cold pipes and cause blockages. Install strainers in all tub and shower drains to catch hair and soap residue, and clean these strainers regularly. These simple steps can significantly reduce the risk of clogs in your plumbing system.
What causes my kitchen sink and washing machine drains to clog?
Kitchen and laundry drains often clog due to their interconnected nature in many homes. Lint from laundry and grease from soap and food residues combine to form a stubborn substance that leads to blockages. While using filters and strainers can help, periodic drain snaking is necessary for optimal maintenance.
Should I close and open the main water supply shutoff valve periodically?
It's advisable to operate your main water supply shutoff valve periodically. This practice prevents the valve from seizing in the open position, which is crucial during water emergencies. Apply this same maintenance to shutoff valves for sinks, tubs, and toilets to ensure they remain functional when needed.
Why do I hear a vibrating noise in my pipes?
Vibrations in plumbing supply lines are common and can have several causes. A loose washer in a faucet or valve may produce rattling or knocking sounds. If the noise occurs when quickly opening or closing faucets, it often indicates loose pipes that need better securing. For persistent noise, consider adding air chambers at the end of long pipe runs, though this typically requires professional installation.
What can I do about a sewer line blockage?
Sewer line blockages are often caused by tree roots. Once roots obstruct the line, options are limited. Professional snaking can provide maximum clearance. Afterward, copper sulfide products may help eliminate remaining vegetation. However, be aware that sewer line replacement might be necessary in severe cases.
Are caustic liquid drain openers (like Drano or Liquid Plumber) harmful to pipes?
While caustic liquid drain openers are generally safe for minor clogs, they should never be used on completely blocked drains. The caustic ingredients can become trapped, potentially causing severe pipe damage. If you can't clear the drain with a snake, it's best to consult a professional. Also, avoid using these products in drains with garbage disposals.
Why doesn't my old water heater work as well as it used to?
Reduced performance in older water heaters is often due to sediment accumulation in the tank. Over time, sediment and lime deposits build up, creating a barrier between the burner and water, significantly decreasing efficiency. Regular maintenance, including sediment removal, is crucial. Additionally, inspect the water heater burner periodically. The flame should be blue with yellow tips; a predominantly yellow or sooty flame may indicate a clogged flue, which is hazardous. Schedule professional inspections every two years to check for leaks and assess anode rod condition.
