He gave us practical advice free of charge for what we could try, even though it did not involve Island Basement services. I am a civil engineer and I could tell that he had in-depth technical knowledge on waterproofing and building envelopes.

- RMRachel MendelJan 16, 20182.0We were given a quote for work on our crawlspace, but the first day they showed up to do the work, the price went up $2,000. They said they had to replace framing, which they had not realized before when they originally came to do the estimate. This put them behind on our work, was supposed to take 2 days max. They then had to rebook us which took a few weeks. We had listed our house for sale. The buyers hired a home inspector. The home inspector had concerns about the framing that IBS had done. Fortunately they had not spray foamed yet as they were behind on our job. Our buyers would have had to remove all the spray foam to fix the problem. They had good reviews online so I thought they knew what they were doing. It all worked out in the end but it concerns me that this job was not done correctly the first time and that the price went up so drastically from the original quote.
