I had my sewer/storm drain back up into my basement when it started raining. Because this happened after hours, I had them come out the next day to avoid handing over my first born. In the meantime, I used my Shop-Vac to suck up as much water as possible for several hours.
By the time they arrived, the flood had subsided. They ran their scope, and there was a bit of blockage that they pushed aside with the scope. But of course there are rocks in there, because why not.
Enough to be annoying, but not critical. They recommended I spend several thousand dollars excavating so that they can clean it out.
The next day, I flooded again. The day after, they came back out to essentially shrug their shoulders because it wasn't actively flooding at the moment and told me to excavate again.
This "advice" cost me over $800 in two visits and never solved the problem. I feel they just wanted me to spend lots and lots more money with them.
Frustrated, I decided to explain everything to ChatGPT. ChatGPT of all things ....
ChatGPT suggested that I buy something called a sewer jetter. Then hook that up to my pressure washer and run it through the line.
One Amazon trip, $90 cost and two days to deliver, then about an hour of my time combined, it's been a couple months since I've had an issue.
Unless it's an emergency that you need them out there that instant to clear something up, I would recommend consulting with a freaking AI on the internet about your issue before calling this company.
You might save yourself several hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
Also, for anybody reading this that is a homeowner. Just get online and buy yourself a sewer jetter. You may not need it now, but you may need it in the future. And they're not that expensive. Keep it in the garage or whatever. Make sure you of course have a pressure washer. Those things are cheap at any home improvement store. But this thing could save you so much money.

We recently required some drain cleaning on short notice. After a call all was scheduled and the service took place in a very reasonable time frame. Kirk was great and the job got done. I would not hesitate to Recommend Roto Rooter. I dealt with the Port Alberni location.

They did excellent job to find a problem at underground storm water pipe, then they corrected the problem properly. The only complain I have is the work delay due to the lack of employees.
