Macho Contracting and Tyler saved the day. A leaking shutoff valve stopped installation of a new icemaker in our kitchen. Appliance parts everywhere and a dinner in a few hours. One call to Macho Contracting and a technician was onsite within 45 minutes. Tyler showed up. Very neat in appearance, clean clothes and shoes, and well mannered. His personality was very customer oriented and personable. He explained what will be done and worked expeditiously to complete the job. Once completed, Tyler confirmed there were no leaks and cleaned up the work area.

Our hot water heater went out! I was in such a panic because the weather is getting cooler and we have a brand new 2 month old and a toddler. I was thinking it would take forever and be super expensive to get a new water heater installed…
Tyler came by the day we called him and installed the water heater early the next day. He was professional, knowledgeable and QUICK! We feel very confident in the service and product we received. Thank you Tyler and Macho Contracting!

Kenny and Tyler did an excellent job installing our new toilets and garbage disposal. Chris and T did an awesome job repairing our blocked sewer pipe. Robbie and Alfredo (owner) solved the mystery as to why our sewer pipe was backing up.. tree roots! They were quick and got us scheduled for repair right away.
We definitely will use Macho for our future plumbing work. They show up as promised and perform quality work for a fair price.
Frequently Asked Questions About Macho Contracting
What is the first thing I should do if I have a major leak emergency?
First, locate and shut off the water source causing the leak. If you're unable to do this, contact a plumber immediately, regardless of the time. Once the water is off, assess the damage and proceed with necessary repairs. For extensive water damage, contact your homeowner's insurance after the plumber's assessment. Remember the order: turn off water, call plumber, then contact insurance if needed.
My kitchen disposal is stuck and is just making a humming sound. What do I do?
Kitchen disposals often jam due to overloading, improper items, or foreign objects like plastic utensils. Lower-end units are particularly prone to this. The humming indicates the flywheel is stuck. Important: turn off the disposal immediately. We strongly advise against reaching into the disposal to remove the obstruction yourself.
I'm not loyal to any plumbing company. What are some suggestions?
While plumbing is a costly trade, we recommend focusing on individual plumbers rather than companies. Build a relationship with a trusted plumber who understands your home's specifics. Be open about budget constraints; a good plumber will work with you on cost-effective solutions. A strong relationship ensures reliable service, even for middle-of-the-night emergencies.
How extensive does water damage to my home need to be in order for homeowners insurance to cover repair costs?
Consider involving your homeowner's insurance if repair costs exceed your deductible and out-of-pocket expenses would be substantial. Significant damage typically includes harm to floors, walls, ceilings, electrical systems, or cabinetry. If repairs extend beyond basic plumbing fixes, consult with your plumber about involving insurance.
I've used an unlicensed plumber before and it worked fine. Why not do that again?
While handymen can handle minor plumbing issues like leaky faucets, using unlicensed plumbers for major work carries risks. Unlicensed individuals may lack current code knowledge and can't be held accountable through formal complaints. This could lead to complications and additional expenses in the future. For extensive plumbing needs, a licensed professional ensures code compliance and accountability.

I am leaving out of town and I want to make sure nothing in my house has a major leak while I am out of town. What are my options?
To prevent major leaks while away, you can turn off individual shut-off valves at toilets, faucets, and in washrooms. For comprehensive protection, consider shutting off the main water supply to the entire house. If your home has a fire sprinkler system, ensure its dedicated shut-off valve remains on.
My house smells like a sewer and it's embarrassing when I have company over. Why are these smells occurring?
Sewer odors can stem from various issues such as cracked pipes, dry pipes, improper venting, or vent pipe location problems. Identifying the exact cause requires systematic testing and elimination. A smoke test is often the most effective method to pinpoint the source of sewer smells in a home.
What should I do first in case of a major leak emergency?
Locate and shut off the water source causing the leak immediately. If you cannot do this, contact a plumber right away. After turning off water, assess damage and call homeowner's insurance if repairs are extensive.
Why is my kitchen disposal making a humming sound and how should I respond?
The humming sound usually means the flywheel is stuck due to a jam. Immediately turn off the disposal and do not reach inside to remove the obstruction yourself.
Does Macho Contracting offer services beyond standard plumbing?
Yes, Macho Contracting also provides septic services, lift station and grinder pump service, bathroom remodels, and project and property management.
Is Macho Contracting licensed and insured to perform plumbing services?
Yes, Macho Contracting is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in Arizona with ROC license numbers 306109 and 308505.
How can I prevent major leaks in my home while I am out of town?
Turn off individual shut-off valves for toilets and faucets, or shut off the main water supply entirely. For homes with fire sprinkler systems, keep their dedicated shut-off valve on.
Why might my house have sewer odors and how are they diagnosed?
Sewer smells can be caused by cracked pipes, dry traps, or venting issues. A smoke test is often used to pinpoint the exact source.
