I was very happy with the service Tim provided. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and considerate of my time and budget. He fixed my old door and bought me some time to consider the purchase for the replacement door. I would highly recommend Tim to my friends and family for any repairs, maintenance or replacement recommendations.

Extremely disappointed with our last service appointment. We have been using A1 for several years with no significant issues but on a recent service call to help with an error code displayed on our garage opener panel our experience was incredibly poor. When I called for the appointment I was told that they would wave the $59 trip charge because they had just recently done maintenance for us in April of 2025. The error code indicated that there was resistance in the door when it was opening that was greater than normal. The error code only displayed twice one day a couple of weeks ago. The minute the technician arrived, he started telling me that everything he looked at was failing and that our entire door, door opener and springs should be replaced or rebuilt. I had to ask the same questions multiple times before I was able to get a straight answer. A few years ago we opted to have A1 install two extra heavy duty "orange" springs that had a lifetime warranty. When the springs were installed I was told that if one spring broke the other would still be able to operate the door. The technician on this trip told me that if one spring broke that they would both have to be replace. He also told me that if any other repairs were made to the door that required temporarily loosening the tension on the springs that this would require replacing the springs again. I was told that the reason for the error code that prompted my initial call was due to a failure in the opener and that it should be replace because it is 9 years old. The technician put a scale under the door to see how much weight was being applied. It was 10lbs. He told me that it should be zero pounds. The weight can be controlled by adjusting the tension in the springs. It appeared to me that this was the cause of the error message and that a simple adjustment to the springs would solve the issue. I was not present during the entire visit and I had assumed that he would go ahead and make this simple adjustment since I was already being charged $170 just to have him come out. I felt that the entire 2 hours were spent with the technician trying to scare me into committing to repairs and expenses that were not absolutely necessary. When I declined to commit to any billable repairs at that time, he actually told me that I was risking vehicle damage and personal injury because our garage door could collapse at any time. When I further declined he told me that I REALLY should at least replace the garage door opener before he left for ONLY $1,200.00. Towards the end he told me about a "membership" plan for $155.00 annually that would save me money on future repairs. I told him that I wanted to think about the plan and not commit now. When I went to sign the necessary forms on his tablet, the first form was for the $155. Before I signed it, I told him that I did not want to purchase that now, I felt that he was trying to slip that past me and hoping that I would sign it without noticing that this was for the membership and not for the service call. Before he left, he told me that he would have to charge me the $59 trip charge because I didn't agree to any additional billable repairs. I mentioned that when I first made the appointment that I was told that the trip charge would be waived. He showed me some fine print on his tablet that stated that the trip charge would only be waived if additional billable repairs were made. By this time I just wanted to get this over with so I agreed to the final $229 in charges. In the end, I felt that the technician very deceptive and not very honest in what he was telling me and I got the impression that he was working on a commission basis with the way that he kept trying to scare me into unnecessary and expensive repairs. Based on past history with A1, my recent experience probably doesn't reflect on the entire company, however, this will be the last time I do business with them.

This is my second review of my experience with A1 and technician Justin Normoyle. This was truly a 5 star experience. I cannot say enough nice things about Justin.....he is professional, smart, answered all of my questions (and I asked alot), humble and a real problem solver! If I had to have another garage door installed I would insist on Justin Normoyle for my installation. By the way, he even reset my car's garage door opener!

One of our garage’s springs broke with the door in the closed position. The Repair Tech can the next morning and he was prompt and courteous. He explained what was wrong and the repair options. All price were discussed before actual installation. The door was repaired in a timely manner with what appears to be quality parts and the door functions now better than it has for the last 5 years. A1 is not inexpensive but they are through and provided quality service.

A 1 Garage Technician Javier Perez did an exceptional job! I am so impressed with his high quality work which exceeded my expectations. He did everything: New springs, and an operator reinforcement bracket and a full safety inspection check. Javier even provided my next checkup date. Javier Perez is the best and I wanted to let you know how valued he is as an employee of A 1 Garage Door Service. The garage door opens so quiet now! Hats off to Office Receptionist Kevin Croft for sending Javier Perez my way! Sincerely, Barbara from Scottsdale, AZ.
