It's a ridiculous postal mess if you live on Prosperity Road in Prosperity. Your mail is handled by Beckley and the Mount Hope office and Prosperity. I live 100 yards from the Prosperity post office but my mail never goes there for some reason, unless you rent a post office box. I asked for a next day redeliver of a certified letter and I get nothing from Mount Hope where my letter is sitting. Whoever came up with the idea to involve 3 post offices for one location should be fired and shut down the office and not involve Mount Hope for Beckley service area. Private business does not operate in this ridiculous manner.

Surly and rude. Twice I've called to ask about routine issues and was treated as if they were doing me a favor. They seem to forget that if not for the postal customers and the taxes we pay they wouldn't have a job to be terrible at.

This office of the USPS can't find my address when FedEx and UPS have no problems at all.

Worth stopping here to have a look at the Depression-era art mural in the lobby of this post office, painted in the 1940s, entitled "Mining" which depicts the local area's once extensive and highly productive coal mining industry.
